I have used similar crates for my dogs over the years, but this is the first one I have had that is this large. The plastic shell is thicker and sturdier, and the locking door latch is very nice. I wish I had that a few years back with my escape artist of a dog that broke out of everything _ I know she wouldn't have opened this one.Amazon however needs to learn how to ship these. Like other reviewers, I received a box that was all torn apart and barely still on the crate. Fortunately I got lucky and none of the parts were missing and the crate only had some small scuffs on the side I would be putting against a wall anyway so I opted to just keep it rather than try my luck at having them ship a replacement that might be damaged worse. C'mon Amazon, you're in the business of shipping things so you should know how to package these better.

But necessary for my 80lb, average sized, American bulldog to fly in cargo from US to UK, due to very stringent airline requirements.I initially purchased the 500 size, but was told by my agent that it was not going to be accepted by the airline. (British Airways). So purchased this GIANT 700 size. It is enormous and be warned that you will likely not be able to use it for vehicle travel unless you have an RV. Perfect for my dog, and will be a great dog house for her during the summer, outside.Also, be aware that some airlines will not accept this size crate. Particularly on internal flights, where the planes are smaller. It won't fit in their cargo holds.Finally, this crate is sold for use for dogs far, far larger than mine, and they will certainly fit inside, quite comfortably. But they will not have enough headroom, length room or both, for almost every airline. I am not sure how you would transport a Saint Bernard for example, unless you charter a plane or have a custom crate built!
