yes, the athletic tape holds the pre wrap in place.

I see a review that says this isn't Mueller brand tape and that each roll is only 10 yards. Can you confirm the brand and dimensions please?

This listing is for Mueller Tape; 1 1/2" x 15 yards (mTape). On any given day there are between 10 and 20 sellers of this item. Some of them have high ratings and sell only authentic merchandise. Is this rippable by hand or do you need scissors?

It tears pretty easy 90% of the time, but never need scissors. Good tape.

It's a standard athletic tape -- we've used it for wrists and arm stuff, but I can't see why you couldn't use it on a calf...
