Added extra layer of security
This lock was easy to install and gives me much more peace of mind. It feels sturdy and provides additional security beyond the factory door lock. The key mechanism works smoothly, and the installation instructions were straightforward. If you’re looking for an affordable way to make your sliding door more secure, I’d definitely recommend it.

Simple & Clear Instruction at PrimeLine.net
Got the simple and clear instruction at PrimeLine.net. Used a pencil to mark the ceiling hole and drilled it first. Tried to open (down) and close (up) many times to ensure the smooth operation into the ceiling hole. Next marked the screws positions on the sliding door frame. Drilled the tiny holes on the sliding door frame at the marked positions. Then drove the actual screws to tighten the lock to the door frame. Besides the enhanced security, this can also prevent autistic and dementia people from eloping.

The worst thing ever or missing key piece.
When unlocked, which is the majority of the time, the device has to dangle wide open flapping around? It only looks right and works in the closed and locked position, 99% of the rest of the time it hangs there all slack jawed? They are not only showing you the working components inside, they are showing you what it will look like 99% of the time. If I am missing something please let me know, because there are NO instructions. How is this even a thing...I have to be missing something...right? 3 inches of steel always hanging out there flapping around, right at head height.

A must to properly secure front door
That is perfect! We use it as a safety pin to protect our condo building door. People use to leave the fix door open, but with this, only security of administration can unlock it!
