They smell ok and pretty strong. Somebody told me they would repel flies from my horse. He was annoyed by it and ripped it off. I think it was the dangling more than the smell. So I'll use the left ones for my car instead. Just don't open the plastic too far or you faint. It's very strong in the beginning.

I use these in my bathroom closet and bathroom I love them as vanilla is one of my favorite colors. Last a long time.
