Wow, I was surprised how easy the futon was to assemble and how great the quality of materials are. The packaging and directions are very organized which makes assembly go much smoother. The futon looks nice and is comfy! We are excited to use it as a guest bed and cute couch in the meantime!

Definitely need a second person to help put together once you get to the part where you lift the frame onto the side arm base. The instructional video was easy to follow and the futon is sturdy and beautiful. The mattress has springs which make it the most comfortable futon I have ever sat/laid on and the mattress doesn't slide off the frame. I got this as a couch for my living room but also for my elderly mother to sleep on when she stays over to babysit. She loves it and has no trouble sleeping or getting off of it. Highly recommend!

I love this futon. It’s a high-quality, sturdy piece of furniture, and the mattress is firm and very supportive. The assembly took me about two hours, and I managed to do it by myself. The only downside is that it’s quite heavy and difficult to switch from the bed position back into sofa mode. Other than that, I’m very happy with the purchase.

This futon was easy to assemble (followed along online with the Kodiak assembly video), and can be assembled by one person for MOST of the assembly, but requires two people to put the final assembled pieces together. The parts seem sturdy and well constructed. The mattress is very well made and VERY heavy. The futon very easily converts to a bed, BUT my only complaint is that it is extremely difficult to convert back to a couch from a bed. I believe this is due to the weight of the mattress, and it requires 2 people to do. My work around (as a second person may not always be around) was to cut a piece of rope about 8' long and attach each end to either side of the top/back of the futon frame, and letting the excess droop behind the futon (can't be seen due to mattress). When I need to convert the futon back to a couch I pull that rope over the front of the mattress, stand in front of the futon and while pushing on the seat of the futon, pull the rope to lift the back until the futon clicks back into couch form. Not ideal, but it works well. Image submitted shows rope looped over front of mattress for reference.

We bought this for extra seating in our living room, but first we put it in a small spare room as a guest bed for visiting relatives. The little side tables on the armrest easily flip down, so this fit perfectly in the small space we needed it temporarily. I was impressed with the quality of both the mattress and the frame, it is very sturdy and the wood is nice. As you can see both of my pets love to sit on it. Our brother-in-law used it as a bed when he was visiting from out of state and he liked it so much that he is going to buy one for his guest room as well. I would definitely buy from this seller again, this was delivered much quicker than estimated, and was in perfect condition. The only thing is, it was difficult to assemble and took a long time. So some level of experience is necessary. We got the gray one but it looks blue in the second picture because of the lighting. In person, it is the exact color we ordered. I would recommend this futon, and I am excited about moving it to its place in the living room, so we can enjoy watching movies on it in front of the fireplace this winter!

This did not start out well as we purchased this as a part of a Christmas gift for the grandkids. We were turning their room into a playroom and this was a key element. It arrived and we could tell immediately that it had already been opened. We went to put it together only to discover that the hardware to assemble it was missing. Called Amazon (who was EXTREMELY helpful) and was told that there was no way to get just the hardware. We had to return the product (I'd like to point out that this is a FUTON and was rather heavy and awkward and had already been taken out of the box) and they would send us another. Amazon did consent to send the other without waiting for the first one to come back, which they did, but it was not likely to arrive in time for Christmas which was going to ruin my plan for the grandkids. We packed it back up and hauled it out it the garage and we were completely stunned when the replacement arrived 3 days later. It took several phone calls to get the first one returned because Amazon was under the impression that I was going to take this to the UPS store and "drop it off" and needed to be convinced that they had to come get it. Fortunately, this one had everything it needed and father and son got it together pretty easily. It takes two people to raise and lower it but it's comfortable as both a couch and a bed. It creaks A LOT when you are sleeping on it so you tend to get woken up every time you move . Overall I am very happy with it and I don't regret the purchase.

I read the prior reviews before buying so I went into this expecting to have a tough time assembling the futon since multiple prior reviews mentioned it was difficult. I also saw some people complain about it not being as sturdy so I prepped for that too by having some wood glue on hand to glue all the joints as I assembled. Assembly turned out to be pretty easy, about as easy as I would expect from a futon like this. The parts were color coded so you literally just had to put the red dot next to the red dot and so on. It took me just under two hours to assemble doing everything myself until the end when we had to lift the base onto the frame. Everything went very smoothly and was well made. I almost didn’t order the version with the side tables because I wanted less assembly but the end pieces came fully assembled already as well. Maybe they changed the assembly process and instructions up recently, not sure, but it was far easier than I expected based on previous reviews. The mattress itself was very comfy and the fabric was soft. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

Nice futon, solid wood, though feels a little weak like it might not last long. Mattress is comfortable and it turns into a bed fairly easy. Now the bad. Assembly could've been better, after getting 3 bolts into assembly I found that there were 3 missing nut inserts that are installed at the factory and since I was assembling it on a Friday night and customer service wouldn't be at the office until Monday morning I replaced the nut inserts myself with parts from the hardware store. The brackets installed at the factory were not in line with the boards so I had to loosen the screws when I attached the boards or the whole assembly would be twisted and then tighten them afterwards. Instructions told me to put the bolts in and tighten and then put a cap into the hole and then the next page says to keep everything loose until the next step was finished which meant prying the caps out of the holes and loosening everything. Hardware is functional but cheap, had to make sure that everything threaded before using it, there were burrs in the threads. Some of the holes were not fully drilled out needing a screwdriver to clean the hole out before hardware could be installed. After assembly and getting mattress out of the box and unwrapped I found a tear in the mattress now that it's nearly impossible to return. Hopefully the manufacturer will address these issues here or when I call them. I'll update when that happens.
