What to use if you hear on one or both ears a bit under the normal?
Your hearing will get worse with age, but you don't need to be old to prefer the use of headphones. I watch with my wife several hours a day TV and I spent several hours on the computer doing things and listening to music at the same time. My wife's hearing is fine but mine has deteriorated especially on my right ear over the last years. Therefore I was looking for earphones which you can attach (of course wirelessly) to our TV. My second point in the search was that you can regulate the volume separately for each ear!! Another important condition was that my TV is not muted by plugging the base/amplifier into my TV. OK, the latter is a problem of the TV not the wireless headset. My Sony Bravia KDL-46W2000 does not have Bluetooth as it is not one of the latest models anymore. However in system-settings one could set it to play both: internal speakers AND headset when an audio jack is plugged in. The Simolio set comes even with two other cables (optical and RCA). I used the audio jack. The setup was done in two minutes. Honestly. No pairing or such things required. The headset is very comfi and soft. Audio quality is great. The quality of the "Sennheisers & Co" might be better (I don't know as I can't compare), but they don't offer separate volume control for each ear and they are much more expensive (double or triple the price of this headset. This set has a very reasonable price, it work also with my PC. One has always a charged spare battery in the base unit . My wife can hear via the normal speakers, I hear via the headset with low volume on the left and full volume on the right ear. I realise that my right ear learns to listen again (of course this is the brain, which learns it again, as some audio related areas where not used for a long time). The volume range is just great! I had a couple of questions and the seller quickly responded. So I'm actually quite happy with my new setup. Once the big players (Sony, Sennheiser and ....) have realised that some deafness is part of the norm, not only among the elderly; there might be more such things on the market. I'm very glad I found SIMOLIO SM-825D and one of my arguments is, it is not for seniors only, I know younger folks which have different hearing on their ears; they might be deterred by the word "Senior" and "Hard hearing" in the advertising lines as people with hearing difficulties don't admit this easily and learn rather to live with it as doing something against :-). Do you hear me?!

First impressions: ‘I just plugged-it-in and it played’ Have bought another to listen to the radio
This is my second one too listen to the radio. Also of course the two headsets can be used with both TV and Radio. Again just plug-and-play and the sound is much better from the headset's. First impressions: ‘I just plugged-it-in and it played’ My TV is a 12-year end of line when I bought it, Sony Bravia KDL-32W40 and have had problems over the years connecting devices as I’ve run out of sockets/etc on the back and didn’t think this was to be any different. My TV firmware for the Headset only allows, headset or TV not both & the RCA jacks have a mind of their own. I use Virgin Media and that seems to take over some settings so it will work and stops everything muscling in. Firstly, I spent a bit of time reading the User Manual and Quick Guide whilst the batteries were on charge and what a pleasant surprise, information that is clear, well presented and also easy to understand – with lots of tips if it does not work - top marks. Also, I didn’t have to hunt around or buy yet another lead to connect it up – hurrah. I know very little about how to setup this type of wireless device but I could easily follow it. Also made an enquiry to Simolio and got a very prompt and clear reply which seldom happens these days of ‘flog and forget’. Once – and yes, a spare battery supplied and gets charged up whilst unit is switched on so its ready when needed to change the battery in the headset (10 hrs charge) at no extra cost. I just followed the instructions and connected up for ‘Headset’ switched on and allowed the 5 secs or so pairing and off I went. The headset is very comfortable and light, volume, mic on/off switch at hand but had no need to adjust the balance. I tried walking around every room in the house and the sound was great everywhere. You can also connect another wired headset and listen. Repeated the RCA and as before no problems and I could hear via headset and TV – at last!!!!! Have yet to try Digital Optical Out as the socket is mine is in use and I can’t remember what it’s doing so best at present leave what is working – working. Have decided to buy another one so we can listen to the Local radio station which has a strong signal in the kitchen leaving us to wander around and listen to it or have two headsets to listen to either radio or TV. Strongly recommended……… Can confirm that you can fall asleep and the headset does not fall off.

A great pair of headphones; just one or two minor quibbles.
I was looking for a new pair of wireless headphones which were not bluetooth, to replace my years-old knackered Panasonic pair. I use headphones primarily for listening to music and, although these are marketed more as TV headphones, they seemed to be the ones best suited for my needs. I have now been using them for about a year. Overall, they're pretty great! They really are a good fit, with each earpiece individually adjustable and I can wear them for a long period of time without feeling uncomfortable (unlike the single elastic band fit on the Panasonics which were always still a little too large and loose on my head.) The Panasonics also had to be tuned to the receiver and occasionally they would knock themselves out in the middle of use so I would have to slightly nudge the tuning dial to get the sound back. Not so with the Simolio: tuning is automatic and permanent, and the sound remains constant and clear throughout. The fact that you get two battery packs with it, and can charge one whilst using the other, is a great touch! I do personally have one small issue with these headphones, pretty much the only thing which stops me giving them the full five stars. They have a feature where, if no sound is detected, they will enter a sort of "sleep mode", then they will take a second or two to wake back up when sound comes through again. I'm not certain but I believe this may be a power-saving feature that almost all products like this nowadays are legally required to have. This in itself wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for the fact that the time to sound cut-off seems to be so short: when one song finishes, just a few seconds gap is all it takes for the headphones to shut down. When the next song starts, I can miss the beginning of it because the headphones haven't woken up again yet. I've also noticed that the sound playing needs to be loud enough for the headphones to detect them in the first place - depending on how the song starts I could be a good 10 seconds or so into it before the sound starts coming through. Like I said, I realise these are marketed more as TV headphones, but on the rare occasions I've used them for that purpose I have noticed a similar effect. If it's a very quiet scene, the headphones can enter their sleep mode. Then even when a sound occurs or a character speaks, if it's not loud enough the headphones won't register them. There have been rare moments when I've missed entire lines of dialogue and then had to quickly rewind the film back to watch it again after the headphones finally woke up. On another more general note: if the headphones haven't being used for a long period of time, the batteries tend to lose charge by themselves and could be flat when you actually need them (I also suspect one battery may not hold its charge as long as the other one.) In fairness, however, this seems to be the common nature of virtually all rechargeable batteries and therefore not something I can single out this particular product for. I do always have the option of connecting the headphones directly using the provided cable, which eliminates all the above-mentioned issues, and that is a very welcome inclusion! Overall, these headphones are a great improvement over my old pair and I've been very happy with my purchase over the last year. The "sleep mode" is fine to be there, I just feel the delay before entering that really should be longer than it is - give new sound more time to come through than a mere few seconds. If that time could be extended, these headphones would have earned that elusive fifth star!

Love Love these Heaphones
I bought these wireless headphones, as I wear them so I can wander round the house, listening to my programs, while getting jobs etc done. The sound is clear, excellent quality (I am a singer & musician so critical), you can adjust the balance left and right if you have a slight hearing issue in one ear. If you get an extra set of headphones, you can also use them from the same base transmitter unit. ( You can use it with several headphone units). The base unit has ports and wires for Digital audio , RCA and 3.5mm aux. . Charging is so easy, just plug the headphones into the base unit, just like charging your mobile phone. This will charge the internal battery within the headphones, without having to remove the battery. It also comes with a second battery which sits, charging in the base unit. One word of Warning, make sure you are VERY careful inserting the battery into your headphones, as the connector pins are fragile, and can break easily. But this tiny issue is nothing in comparison to how great these are. The headphone unit is really comfortable. I find alot of sets make my ears and jaw hurt (especially as I wear glasses). But these are very cosy, even for prolonged periods. I would rebuy these without hesitation, and am a customer for life!!! Also, customer service is superb, fast and professional. Out of interest, they are a small firm, and based in the UK....which is a massive PRO in my mind.

Excellent headphones until the soundtrack goes quiet!!
Had these for nearly two years and in all areas except one they are brilliant. The range is good. The independent volume control is good. The rechargeable battery system is a great idea…never left unable to use them because battery has gone flat. HOWEVER…..they have one serious fault (which they call a design feature) whereby whenever the film/tv program soundtrack goes quiet, the headphones automatically cut out ….only if restarting when the soundtrack gets back to a normal level. If you are watching (say) a film with lots of quiet background music with little or no narrative it will drive you mad stopping and starting!! If your tv is an older model with an RCA audio output then connecting with the red and white leads seems to solve the problem which makes me believe that the problem lies with the digital connection which is the only option on some newer tvs….like mine!!! It’s a great pity…because otherwise these are exceptionally good headphones. Postscript! Following above review, Simolio Customer Support have been exceptionally helpful in trying to find a solution for me. I agreed to purchase a digital to RCA converter (cost less than a tenner which they have now reimbursed) which appears to have solved the problem. I need to test for a few weeks so will post a final review afterwards). Whilst I am very pleased with Simolio support I am still not happy that their product needed to be downgraded to RCA for it to work fully, even with quiet soundtracks like any old set of plug in headphones would do, and whilst this will probably put me off their products in the future, I am willing to upgrade my rating from two to three stars just for their product support.

Excellent headset to help with hearing TV
This is a tremendous high quality product. It comes with a variety of leads to connect the transmitter to the TV, and in this respect is in marked contrast to other manufacturers. It is very easy to set up and start using, and transmitter has a long range. Very helpfully the package comes with spare battery which is being charged constantly by the transmitter, so when battery in the headset goes flat you have another charged ready and waiting. It is a joy to use. The headset is very comfortable to wear and it really clarifies the dialogue when people are speaking in a TV programme..The company responded helpfully to an e mail query of mine within a couple of hours, which says a lot about the service they give. The price is extremely reasonable for a product of this quality. You will be well pleased with your purchase.

these are not great headphones. To use the microphone to listen to other people whilst watching TV. you have to turn the sound up fully, but it means the TV. cannot be heard, so you might just as well take them off. The sound is very strange if you turn your head the sound goes higher on the ear which is further away, also as someone else mentioned the sound is clearer if you lift the phones off your ears a little . As for the battery it does not last 10 hours more like 4. My other headphones last about 5 days before charging. The only good thing is they have a long range with no interference, but i would not recommend these

Easy setup, wire-less, high quality headphones
Simolio 2.4 GHZ wireless TV headphones, SM-825DPro These headphones were given to me as a Christmas present, having been purchased from Amazon. The presentation of these headphones is most impressive, from the simple but well-designed packaging to the actual construction of the headphones themselves. The package contains a variety of cables to meet every connection need, a plug and continental adapter, the transmitter and the headphones themselves. It also contains a manual, something which alas most of us tend to ignore. This is a pity because there is much to be learned about this system from the manual and I do recommend reading it fully before installation. Basically the system consists of a transmitter, which can be connected to the television or whatever unit you wish to listen to, by means of either an optical cable, a phono cable or a minijack cable. The manual recommends the transmitter is placed four feet from the television and the cables are just long enough to permit this, unless some furniture gets in the way. Simolio recommend the use of the optical connection, but in practice I have found that any of the three connecting cables work effectively. The headphones themselves are strongly constructed, with soft enclosed earmuffs that block out external sound. There is a microphone button on the headphones that you can press so that someone can talk to you while you are wearing your headphones, an interesting and useful idea! Even more useful is the fact that the headphones contain a small rechargeable battery hidden under a removable plastic cover. When the battery is depleted the headphones emit a beep, Murphy's Law dictates that this will be at the beginning of the program you want to watch! But there is no need to panic, for there is a second fully recharged battery under a cover in the transmitter. Quickly change the batteries over and the headphones work again and the spare battery is then recharged inside the transmitter. This is a particularly clever idea, and does away with the need to recharge the headphones overnight from a USB PowerPoint. Setting up the system is simplicity itself. Connect the transmitter to the mains, and using one of the three cables provided, connect it to the television with sound on. On the back of the transmitter are two slider switches, the first 'on/mono/stereo', and the second 'bass/normal/treble'. Move the slider to either 'mono' or 'stereo', and set the tone switch to ‘normal' or 'treble'. Then set the switch on the right-hand headphone earpiece to 'on'. After about a second the sound will come on and you can adjust the volume level with the knurled knob above the 'on off'' switch. There is no pairing necessary with this system which makes it particularly easy to set up. My wife, who has normal hearing, finds the headphones comfortable to wear and the sound to be full, clear and mellow. Thus far, for the average listener, this is an excellent sound system with some novel and useful design features which you do not find in many other systems Simolio also market the system for people with hearing impairments. Regrettably, my hearing is deteriorating to some degree and I hoped that these headphones would solve some of my listening difficulties, and avoid the dreaded wire trailing across the floor towards the television and tripping everybody up! And indeed this system has solved many of my problems. The headphones contain circuitry to assist those with hearing impairment, however as hearing impairment may be different from one person to another, you may need to experiment to achieve the best results from these headphones. Initially, with the headphones fully enclosing my ears, I found the sound strongly bass and reverberating, giving an overall muddy listening experience. How bad this was depended on the soundtrack of the programme I was watching, and I have always found American soundtracks, particularly with many women's voices, almost impossible to hear. This was also the case with my wired headphones. After experimentation, I found that if I did not fully enclose my ears inside the earmuffs, the sound improved considerably and some small space between the earmuffs and the face solved the problem for me. I have discussed the possibility of providing additional 'fit over' soft open foam earpieces with Simolio and they are looking into this for those who would benefit from more 'open' headphones. I have another minor niggle. Sight deterioration sometimes accompanies hearing impairment, and the L and R symbols on each earpiece are small, black and on a black background. These should be much larger and in white for those with deteriorating sight. One great feature which I do use is the provision of a mini jack headphone socket on the right hand headset. This is a feature I really appreciate, in that if the soundtrack from the TV is really bad, I can plug my wired headphone into the Simolio headphone and use the volume control to alter the sound in the second set of headphones. In this case the Simolio becomes a second transmitter into which a second set of headphones for sharing or a change of sound, can be plugged. None of the comments in the last two paragraphs are sufficient to detract from this well-designed and well-constructed system, and I am happy to give it a five-star rating. I would also give the same rating to the Customer Service from the English speaking Chinese Staff who are top-notch, prompt and helpful.

I only wish I had bought this sooner.
I have been using these for 2 months now, and holy cow, I wish I purchased these a long time ago. I wear hearing aids (over the ear and in the ear) and struggle with hearing. My wife, bless her heart, has no problems with closed captions and the sound volume of the tv on something like 40 or so. But after getting these, she has the tv volume on maybe 18, and I have it on what ever i want with the volume wheel right on the headphones--they are independent from the tv volume control. We still use captions, mostly as a mental crutch (and she is actually used to looking at them too :), but i can now watch tv without captions with the clear sound this wireless headphone setup allows! Setup and connection was amazingly easy. i connected to the tv sound with the optic cable, plugged the power into the device, grabbed the headphones and powered them on.....and DONE. not once in 2 months has this thing not simply worked. hold the power button down for a couple moments on the headphones..."tv sound, tv connected" every time...no bluetooth here, wireless there....EVERY TIME. i have been dealing with tech stuff for a long time: this...just...works. The only downside is it's not as easy to talk to your person while watching tv as you have the headphones on; my wife says something loud enough or i take off an ear cup and we talk/comment about the program....but, it is a little isolating...we are getting use to it and accommodating. but as those with real hearing issues know, hearing loss is isolating...you work around it. The headphones are comfortable; a couple reviews mention the ear cups kinda coming apart, so i try to keep the stress on that material as minimal as possible, we shall see. the battery life is really good--no time frame i have measured, but i have charged the headset maybe 2 or 3 times in 2 months (I normally watch tv about 3 times a week in the evenings due to work) ; i have yet to pull out the extra battery in the home base unit (which is relatively small, btw--it sits hidden behind the infrequently used bluray player). LASTLY, the other big reason i chose this item was the independently adjustable balance between the ears. One ear is significantly worse than the other; after the easy initial setup, i easily turned the balance towards my weaker ear...done. Love These.

Tolles System

Gracias Simolio ;-)

Just as advertised! Very satisfied.
I tested all functionalities as stated and everything works perfectly. I connected via the 'Optical' port on my flat screen non-smart TV. The sound is absolutely acceptable and volume potentiometer is very smooth. I used to have a set of Sennheiser headphones in my 4.5 apt and connection would breakup in my kitchen about 20ft away from the base. Also the vol pot started to fail by producing very bad static and cutouts when in use. I'm now in a 3.5 apt and the walls are built with metal studs not wooden 2x4's. So I'm surrounded by metal. Using these new headphones I can travel from the base in my living room into my bedroom, bathroom and kitchen with NO LOSS of signal nor degradation in sound quality. These headphones do what they are suppose to do which is to 'work' as advertised and be reasonably priced. They're as comfortable as most headphones. There's NO LATENCY at all. The cushions are fine but I find the fit of the headphones in general to be slightly on the tight side but are easily tolerable. My expectation is this will improve with time. The User Manual is in English and understandable enough to get things working. There's also a French 'Quick Set-up Guide'. The variety of connections is astounding and all cables provided. The quality of the PU leather is typical and stitching of the headpad is questionable with regards to durability. I was hesitant prior to buying these and looked at many other sets, costing more. Checked their reviews and finally gave in to these ones. I'm very happy I did. Lots of bang for the buck with these very reasonably priced headphones with nice features.
