I've waited to write this review after using this shampoo as directed for about 2 1/2 months. At the beginning of Nov. I began losing large amounts of hair due to a massive hormone imbalance. We're talking like a ping pong ball sized wad of hair every time I showered. My hair was visibly getting thin at my temples & hairline & I proceeded to freak out-so I bought this shampoo. My husband had been using Bosley's shampo & cond., but the ingredient list is massive (full of chemicals). I wanted something more natural w/better ingredients, which is why I chose Purad'or. I bought the lavender vanilla scent, which honestly has next to no smell at all (but that's ok). It is very mild smelling w/no chemical smell at all. It's a pinkish gel consistency-not very thick, but not super watery either. 1 pump definitely gets your whole head. It DOES lather up some, but not like the typical soap shampoos. Here's the deal though: YOU MUST LEAVE IT ON FOR 2 MIN. before rinsing out. Now, I'm very impatient, so it's annoying to do, but I just count & do some squats in the shower (might as well get some exercise in, right)? If you don't leave it on 2 min., I notice my hair was more tangly. When I leave it on for the full 2 min., when I rinse, my hair is much more soft & detangled. It has not dried out my hair or my scalp at all. No irritation to the scalp at all (& I have very sensitive skin). I use my own preferred conditioner because I have color treated hair. NOTE: it will strip your color out some-so beware of that, esp. if you use semi-permanent hairdye like me). NOTE: YOU WILL NOT SEE A DIFFERENCE UNTIL YOU'VE USED IT AS DIRECTED FOR A MONTH. At week 2, I saw no difference at all & was getting really discouraged. Then after week 3 I started noticing less fall out & now at 6 weeks, I'm losing way less hair each washing. It went from a big wad of hair to maybe the size of a pea. I waited to review until it was this way consistently & I can honestly say, I have lost this small amount of hair for over a week now. I'm now losing about the same amount I was before all of my hormone issues. It does make your hair seem thicker as well, which also helps. I have never tried the gold label one, so I don't know about the smell of that one, but this blue bottle one that's lavender vanilla has no gross chemical or woodsy smell like some have mentioned on here. It just smells very mildly flowery, but the scent disappears quickly. I will continue to use it, maybe forever, because it's helping me lose less hair. I also take hair vitamins & use a growth scalp oil daily now too, so there's also that. I highly recommend this shampoo though if your hair is thinning & you want a more natural approach without a million chemicals in it.

This is the 3rd of these products that I have tried. I am not paid to do this. I had a need and ordered this stuff after reading other reviews. They can be hard to sift through as some are paid or given free product to test it. I really wish amazon did not allow this or at least would pass them off as shill reviews. On that note, I have tried Regenepure and Monat products for the same reason. Thinning hair. I am mid 40s and my dad an older brother lost most of their hair much earlier. I still have quite a bit, but it is starting to thin and I feel much too young to let it go. I am considering surgery if needed in the future, but will try anything to put this off or eliminate the need if possible. I did not get much if any success from the other (Regenepure and Monat) products. A lot of hope and wishful thinking, but after a couple of years of using them, my hair was slowly getting worse. I have used this PURA D'OR for about a month. I am also taking PriaPlex (or PriaPlus, bought on Amazon too) pills. I have not been taking the Pria Product for a month yet. I am not sure which is helping, but i have noticed two things. One, my hair is not falling out when i wash it. I used to have 10-20 strands in my hands when I would shower or style with product. Now it is 0-4. The other things I have seen is small hairs coming in on the front hairline. One could argue that these have broken and are regrowth. I am just glad to see little hairs popping out and did not see this before. I am hopeful this is happening all over my scalp. If my hair would thicken by 10-20% this would likely solve my problem for now. I am hopeful that between these two products I can kick the surgery can down the street for 10 years or so. Would definitely recommend both of these products if you have about $90-100 per month to sink into a solution (the pills are about $75/month). If you only have $20 or so to invest a month, start with THIS SHAMPOO. I know it is what is contributing to my early success. I bet I get 3 months or more out of the bottle. I have used for a month and i am not even close to finishing it. I am certain it is more than 1/2 full. I use two pumps each time I shower and not much comes out. My hair is pretty short, and this does cause it to lather pretty well. If you had long-ass thick hair I bet this would go for at least a month. So it does a good job of cleaning hair too. It is not the best smelling shampoo, but i would put baby puke in my hair if it would make it grow. That said, no need to follow up with another shampoo to make it smell better. Just a different smell. Earthy maybe, but you could expect that from a natural product mix. This is the best i have tried to-date on my 2+ year search.

I like this shampoo. It seems to have slowed my hair loss. It smells good - not medicinal. My hair feels silky as if I used conditioner. I don't use as much of this product as I have other shampoos.

I've only been using it for three and a half weeks, but in that time there has been a noticeable (if minor) advance in my hairline of about 5 millimeters. [This can be relatively easily monitored by looking where the long hairs join the short hairs.] There also are a few stray, but very thin, hairs sprouting on parts of my forehead/scalp that have been bald for decades. I don't think that it is yet very visible to someone who isn't intensively studying my hairline, but I've noticed the difference when I look in the mirror. I first started to notice changes after about two weeks of usage, and will monitor continuing changes over the next weeks and months, with hope that as the DHT blockers have a chance to revive additional dormant hair follicles. My primary focus is on the advancing hairline, since that is easiest to monitor, but I have a feeling that the hair on my scalp is also a little bit thicker than it had been. I've given 4 stars because the advance in my hairline so far has been relatively modest, but will adjust it to five stars if I continue to have hair grow where none has grown for so long. *************************************************************************************************************************** I've now used it for six months. The hairline has advanced about two centimeters. The hair on my scalp is noticeably thicker -- when it started to grow in I could feel short 'fur like' hair across my scalp, hidden by the longer hairs. I no longer see the thinning spot at the back of my hair. To be fair, the advance has slowed (I don't think it has completely stopped, but there are just a few short hairs sprouting at the edge of my hairline.) I've also seen an increase in hairs dropping when I shampoo. Since these are disproportionately shorter hairs, and my hair still looks a lot thicker, my sense is that these are the newly sprouted hairs falling out when the follicles go into rest sooner than the other ones do. This makes sense since an increased pattern of resting is how follicles shift to no longer growing hair. There's no reason why the reverse shouldn't be true too.) I remain pleased with the results.

It’s not a miracle— you’re not going to grow a full head of hair over night. Yes, I did loose a little bit more hair than usual when I first started using it just like the product disclaimer said, but over time I’ve noticed my hair filling out slowly in areas. I’ve been using this shampoo and their everyday lavender conditioner for the past year, and the most obvious places of change I can see are around my visible hair line and around my temples. I don’t have styled bangs, but when I pull my hair back in a low ponytail, I have light bangs from the crown of my forehead to my ears that now frame my face. My hair feels healthier and cleaner, and also looks healthier than before. Yes, it doesn’t lather super easily like conventional store brand shampoos. For me it’s easier to either lather a few pumps in my hands or to rub it in my scalp with my finger tips with a few split seconds of water directly to the area as you lather. And yes, it can leave your hair feeling very clean and a little tacky, but only if you do not condition your hair afterwards. The formula is also light and washes off clean. Hair takes time to grow, so results takes patience. It looks like some customers had some very severe reactions to it (extreme hair loss), but I think that case can be made for any product. If you’re lookin for an organic product to help promote hair growth, I would recommend this for at least three months to see my if you like it. I have no reason to change hair products since it continues to keep my hair healthy.

The product is very good, wife loves it, but the product is only available via the "FRESH" department, which I presumed was part of the Amazon Company of which I pay $139.00 per year to be a "PRIME MEMBER", which does not have any significance with the "FRESH" department due to there is a $9.95 "SERVICE FEE" built into the ordering process. What Service is the "FRESH" department providing that I am already getting as a "PRIME MEMBER", what is the "FRESH department doing that is any difference as to what Amazon is already providing. Also, they are asking for a $5.00 "GROCERY TIP" as well during the ordering process which adds an extra $14.95 to the "FRESH" order. I am surprised that Amazon is allowing this tactic to occur, Amazon should be very careful that the "FRESH" department is trying to get "EXTRA" monies from the AMAZON PRIME MEMEBERS which I am sure I not the only one that feels this way.

I’ve waited to write a review because I wanted to use it for a few months. I started this shampoo in the beginning of 2025 because my hair started to thin. I’ve noticed my hair get fuller and healthier in just 9 months. Love this product and would not change it!

Omg! Got the product in 2 days and I tried it as soon as I got it. I have been battling with extreme breakage due to steroid injections. Over the course of a year my hair and the crown area has snap completely off. I have been taking hair vitamins and drinking a lot of water thinking my hair would grow back pretty fast as it always does. To my surprise, it has been over six months with little to no growth. In researching, I found this product with good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I bought the shampoo, conditioner, masque, and scalp serum. The shampoo seemed to strip the hair, however it had a really nice feel that was not brittle. The conditioner was a little thin in texture however it coated my hair nicely. After rinsing, it didn't feel like most deep conditioners. I guess I'm used to a heavier feel after conditioning. I will say that my hair still felt light and clean. Here comes the part I love most! I applied the masque and kept it on for approximately 10 minutes. Normally after I rinse out conditioner out my hair draws tightly until I apply some type of oil or moisturizer. Not this time! My hair had some beautiful coils that were very defined and lusterous. I can't say I ever saw my curl pattern look this awesome. I have thick African American hair with a deep coil curl pattern. It was so easy to manage after. This is my first try but I'm very excited about it already. I can't wait to see if the product will work for my hair loss. I will be using this product exclusively. I plan to post pictures in about a month to shown growth progress. Very Hopeful

Bought it firstly because it is sulphate free & am looking for shampoos for hair growth. Used for 7-8 months daily. Washes very well, even for oily hair. Smells pleasant and gives my hair a little more volume and texture through out the day, just did not notice any hair growth. Did notice less hair fall though.

When I started losing massive amounts of hair recently, I started to panic and researched a lot. All the reviews I read and saw on YouTube about this shampoo were sponsored reviews so it was hard to believe them. Luckily, I came across someone's review here on amazon which seemed to be a genuine feedback. This lady had taken the time to respond to several queries over the years. That's when I decided to purchase this shampoo and started using this on the 16th of September. I love the scent of this shampoo, lathers well and don't find it drying at all. I don't use a conditioner, still my hair feels very soft after air drying. Within two weeks of using this I saw a dramatic reduction of hair in the drain after shampooing. I started taking Viviscal on Sept. 15th. I truly don't know what is helping, but these two products are my hair savers. Today when I saw very few strands of hair in the drain after shampooing, thought it prudent to leave a positive feedback and logged in to do so. If reading this feedback would help someone out there like me who is post menopausal that would be wonderful.
