Fits savage cub
Fits my son's savage cub. Have to buy two of them. This is a package of one base. Not two bases. Holes perfect, screws perfect. They are standard slotted screws, might be nicer and easier to tighten if they were Allen bolts or similar, but the screws were find. Held with some blue locktite. Kind of silly they are sold individually. You could do absolutely nothing with only one mount. Should be a pack of two.

PERFECT !!!
It was a pleasant surprise to find a good ol' fashioned true to earth deal here on Amazon again !!! Picked this rail mountable base up for less than MSRP & common commercially available pricing and to top it off , while not a PRIME "deal" or purchase the cost of S&H was actually legit !!! KUDOS TO THIS RETAILER !!! Also as you probably already know , Weaver makes mounts bases and rings for everything and are among the best in the business so no worries there my friends

A fine product but...
Weaver publishes on their website that this, Weaver 28, and Weaver 31 are the correct scope mounting parts for Marlin 39 Century (Octagon Barrel) rifle; They actually aren't. The correct part is Weaver #90. I put the Weaver 90 base on my rifle and it works great. Their misinformation wasted a lot of my time and money. Hate to ding their product, but they need to get it together. Aside from the error, the product is fine - fit and finish look great. If you have an older or more obscure rifle I'd suggest checking with a local gunshop or gunsmith first; I did after receiving this incorrect part and that's ultimately what pointed me to Weaver 90 being the correct part. Calling Weaver's tech support number was completely useless. It connects you to some group outside of Weaver, they ask you to leave a message, but never called me back.

Bottom Radius Off
I purchased two pieces for a Savage .22 rifle but the radius on the bottom was not even. One matched ok, the other was a bit loose, and you can see the uneven radius.
