Does anyone use it with the Department 59 Dicken's village?

I use it with a different smaller village set and it looks great. I think it would work with the Department 56 items. Some of my accessories are from Dept 56.

DO the coach cars light up. Does the headlight on the locomotive light?

The coach cars do not light up. The headlight on my locomotive also does not light up.

I have a tabletop that is 17" wide. Can I use flex track to make this work?

I would say no I bought some extra track made a shape like a planters peanut curves in in the center I built a platform out of luan 26 " deep 50 wide made a nice village 17 isn't enough in my opinion but it's a great set
