The Singles Collection

Hey, why go out and buy a bunch of CDs when you can get just about every great Specials Tune on this Single CD? If you are a fan of Old School Ska, then this is a must have for your musical collection. This is one of those CDs that you just put in the player (Or MP3 download) and let it go all the way until it repeats. The Specials truly were a SPECIAL group and way ahead of their time. Check out some samples and you'll be buying it soon after. I also purchased the other CD called "More Specials" because THAT's what it is! More great tunes from Terry Hall and the gang.Come on and get your 1980's SKA skinny tie on, white dress shirt, "high water" slacks, loafers, dark sunglasses and little fedora hat on and let's go thrash! You can't go wrong......rude boy.

Good CD

Except for AWFUL version of Maggie's Farm, this is a must have for Specials fans. Traces arc of early singles thru Nelson Mandela and Ghost Town 12" mixes. Hard to believe they were around for such a short time.

I love this CD. It's got all of their classic hits. What more can I say. The Specials were a great ska band. And their clever songs still resonate.

Got the product at a timely matter. There was only slight damage to the jewel case, but it doesn't affect me in the least. Over all the product was in good shape and I'm enjoying it. Thanks again man!

As I expected, there is quite the mix in quality (subjectively). After all, it is a collection of singles, not a discrete album.I'm sorry to spin out what to some fans is a cliche, but I do feel that most of the best stuff was by "The Specials", not the "The Special Aka" (see the track list in the product description). Not all bands falter at this sort of stage, when one or more key members leave (e.g. Genesis), but I think The Specials never fully recovered.That being said, this is still a mostly great eclectic mix that few modern bands can even imagine touching the soul of. If you only own one Specials CD, make it this one.

Fantastic album great group from my era I grew up with this music

I'd forgotten how many hits they had. A terrific album, hardly any duds. Bursting with life/vitality. Almost made me feel young again.

A blast from the past with that fruity sound of two tone, reggae, ska mix.
