20 cu ft Steel Oxygen Cylinder - CGA540 Valve - DOT Approved

I was pleasantly surprised to find this cylinder was DOT rated. Many of the cheap online ones aren't. This may not sound like a big deal, but it is. Like 99.999% of us, you're probably going to swap this out at a supply house, or have it filled, if your local gas supplier does their own filling. If it doesn't have a DOT rating, most places will not fill or swap the bottle & you're stuck with an expensive paperweight.

I have bought these cylinders multiple times they only have 5 year hydro stamps on them, where any quality U.S. Manufactured cylinder has a 10 year hydro test, and most of the cylinders are not new cylinders just retested and painted cylinders. They have old tests on them where they have been tested before. Several of the cylinders leaked the first time I tried to fill them. Which required me to devalve and reseal threads on them.

This gas cylinder had many metal chips on the valve thread and the mechanism was broken. I didn’t get proper support/response on the product.

Does bot have DOT stamp on tank. Cannot be filled or exchanged at a local gas store.

I haven’t purchased this item but I have been in the Industrial Gas cylinder business for almost 30 years and almost every week someone brings one of these into our store wanting to exchange this cylinder for a full one. As others have mentioned. MOST OF THESE ARE NOT DOT APPROVED and cannot be filled or exchanged at a reputable business that deals with gas cylinders.
