GLEENER Battery-Free Fabric Shaver & Lint Brush | Ultimate Fuzz Remover Sweater Comb | Lint Remover and Depiller for Clothing & Furniture (Taupe)

We purchased the Gleener Ultimate Fuzz Remover Fabric Shaver for getting rid of those little fabric balls on the couch. The fuzz balls are ugly and makes the couch look dingy and uninviting. I've included the before and after shots of just one of the couch cushions. And the final picture is the product with the amount of fuzz removed from the entire couch. We are extremely pleased with this purchase and would recommend it for anyone who has this problem on their couch / sofa. Previously, we were using a small sweater shaver and it did work, it was slow and tedious and ate through batteries. Pros: The Gleener has 3 different attachments -- 3 interchangeable edges they call them. Each one is specialized towards specific types of fabrics (it is listed on the instructions). No batteries or plugs at all. Safe for almost all fabrics -- fabric safe edges. Ergonomic - easy to handle and position while using it, even for large areas like our couch. 2 in 1 - Lint brush included on the other end of the tool (oval part) is useful for gathering any loose fuzz from the surface of the fabric. Cons: Our couch was pretty bad with the number of pills / fuzz so the edge got "full" and needed to be cleared of the removed fuzz. Clearing was really easy (swipe of the pointer and thumb pinched together) and then back at it! Buy this, not an electric sweater shaver if you are looking to clear large fabric areas like a sofa or couch. You will be so happy you did!

This is the fabric pill and lint remover of choice for knitters, at least in my little corner of the world! After having it recommended to me by more than one person, I finally ordered one. I've only had it for a few days so I can't opine on longevity yet, but I did try it on a half dozen tops and I'm pretty impressed with how it did. It was very effective in removing small, hard pills that formed on an old, thin, cotton blend tank top that has gone through one wash too many. It was very effective removing larger, soft pills that had formed on a fleece arcteryx jacket. It was moderately effective removing large pills of mystery fuzz bunnies that were heavily infused on an old pair of wool blend ski socks. It was least effective removing long white pieces of bichon fries hairs and pieces of down feathers and other unidentified lint that had "somehow" gotten pretty embedded in another arcteryx fleece - a black pullover. This fleece is relatively new and I don't know how it got so lint-infused, but because it's black and the fleece has a knitted texture, even a little bit of lint shows up on it like it's under a black light. I was sad the Gleener didn't work very well on this piece of clothing. I tried multiple blades as well as the lint remover and it was getting to the point that I could tell I was beginning to damage the fabric with all my scraping so I called it quits. It is what it is and I'm going to have to live with it. That said, it performed quite admirably on my other test pieces so four stars it is! One problem I had with using it is that the way my hand kept wanting to hold it, I kept popping the head off with a finger. That was annoying after about the twentieth time, but if I use it often enough I'll be able to stop popping the head off mid stroke. It seems very well made and the packaging is great. I'm so glad it comes with its own storage bag. It's light years ahead of a plain old lint brush, better than any of the electric shavers I've tried, and it's far less wasteful than those sticky roller paper lint removers. Recommended.

This fabric shaver is just ok. It doesn’t wow me and it takes a bit of effort to get pilling off thick fabrics. The shaver comes with interchangeable razors for different fabrics which is nice, however if you apply too much pressure (which you have to do with thicker fabrics) they pop off. It’s pretty annoying and Ive ended up not attaching to the handle and just holding the razor attachment in my hand out of frustration. It works… but I’ll probably end up purchasing an electric fabric shaver for convenience.

You don’t want a million doodads hanging around. This one has not only made a whole house full of sweaters look new again, but works great as a basic lint-brush as well. Note that any of these ‘cashmere combs’ require some technique. You want to use short, frequent strokes, and be willing to cover the same spot several times. You’re gently loosening up the little “pills”, and pulling them gradually away from the surface. But once you patiently master the technique, they all come away, but WITHOUT DAMAGING THE UNDERLYING MATERIAL, and you have a fresh new looking garment. It’s a bargain at several times the price.

While the Gleener removes pilling, it also irreversibly damages the texture of the fabric you are treating. The "shaver" is essentially sandpaper. When brushed over your fabric, it catches and removes pills; however, it is abrasive to the entire surface of the fabric being treated. When I tested this on a section of my couch cushions, it changed the woven upholstery fabric from a crisp appearance and tight texture to a fuzzy appearance and a brushed texture. It essentially roughed up and degraded the fiber of the upholstery, and the resulting brushed texture would be more likely to develop pilling more quickly in the future. While that might be okay depending on the original appearance and texture of the fabric you are treating, I would not recommend trying it yourself, especially on anything even slightly delicate. I returned the Gleener and continued de-pilling my upholstery with my nine-dollar, battery-powered Conair fabric shaver, which actually shaves the pills off with a sharp blade without damaging the underlying fabric.

This has completely changed my life - no more struggling to keep my boucle sofa looking nice and new. It's so easy to use and really effective at removing fabric pills, fuzz, pet hair (HUGE pain!!) and lint. It's a two-in-one product that combines a depiller and a lint brush in one simple design. The adjustable edges make it easy to work with different fabrics I've tried it on: cashmere, wool, boucle, cotton, fleece, acrylic, and polyester and it does the job. Using the Fabric Shaver & Lint Brush is super easy – just slide across any fabric surface in short strokes until all of the fuzz, pills or pet hair are removed. It's extremely satisfying to watch

Have tried loads of battery operated fuzz removers but must say this one really works. No effort required have no hesitation in recommending product and seller. Producct arrived very quickly.

I've been using a battery powered fabric shaver for years. Removing pilling with it was time consuming and tedious. I saw this product online and thought I would give it a go. Boy, was I surprised! I was able to remove pilling from my sofa and love seat within a few minutes. I also changed the head and was able to remove some pilling from my wool coat. The lint brush on the other end of the tool is perfect for picking up pilling that is not caught on the tool. I'm VERY happy with this purchase and also pleased to not have to buy batteries or recharge the tool!
