Moreover, each story features a different genre so you simply can't get bored. Stories are divided into chapters with a summary and a comprehension check, which helps the learners to get the most of every single part of the story. If you want to improve your English vocabulary while having fun reading, then this book is just for you! The language is easy to comprehend yet creates vivid images. I did find these stories funny and entertaining, rich in real-life English expressions. An engaging blend of genres, unusual characters and unexpected twists made me feel curious and didn't let me stop reading until the very end. I highly recommend this book as a MUST READ for every English learner, but I am strongly determined that not only the learners, even the native speakers could benefit from reading this book.

This book is confused. It is aimed at intermediate level readers, but the explanation and instructions of how to use the book is advanced level. Unless this is for a teacher to read before issuing the book, I don't understand. The stories themselves are fine. The significant section before this is not.

I purchased this book as a gift for my Stepmother. My Stepmother is from the Philippines and wanted the opportunity to master her command of English more effectively. My Stepmother had really enjoyed reading this book and learning to understand the many eccentricities of the English Language.

In my opinion, Olly Richards short stories are very interesting and challenging enough at my present level without getting into too many complex grammar situations. I have the short stories in Russian (A2-B1) for myself, and recently bought the second book of short stories in English for my Russian friend. So, we now do our best to regularly read to each other, correct pronunciation, while enjoying the same story line in each other’s native tongue. Unlike many similar books all the words have stress emphasis which is vitally important. Words are printed in a decent size font with clear letter identification, and each new story starts with an illustration which will give one some idea of the story theme. A few questions appear at the end of each chapter. Answers are provided. I can only vouch for the English and Russian short stories, however, I’m sure that those in many other languages will be equally well received. Great books! Great value! Great choice! Very happy indeed with them!
