Rustaid Shame On You, This Product WORKS THE SAME!!!
Why spend $14.99 on Rustaid from a big box store when Oxalic Acid is the same active "Main" ingredient. I can make 6 gallons with one 5lb bag and save a pile of money. If you have any PVC products, fencing or siding covered with rust water stains USE THIS!!! Make a 10% solution (13.3 ounces or 377 grams powder per gallon of warm water). Just like Rustaid within seconds the rust stains start to disappear. Dissolves quickly in warm water and I use a 2 or 3 gallon sprayer. I have been using this stuff for several years in my Real Estate Post Sign business (We Use PVC Posts). Every truck that goes out has a bottle of this stuff with them.

Use it cautiously
This is something that will clean toilet tanks and bowls but use it cautiously and with gloves. It is very corrosive to skin. I use it as if it's comet. Turn off the water, flush and then scrub the bowl and tank Turn water back on, Let the tank soak abt 20 mins and flush a few times. You can get water spots of glass with this too and clean showers (porcelein) and tubs. I wouldn't use it on fiberglass or other similar products.

Works for landscaping rock rust removal. Take necessary precautions, though.
My family engraves rocks as a side business. We often pick up smaller-sized field stones if they have a nice color and shape, though these otherwise very suitable rocks frequently have rust streaks or a general discoloration that diminishes their appeal. The most common advice for cleaning rust from landscaping rocks was to use oxalic acid. We gave it a shot with this product. Per the usual internet instructions, we: 1. Mixed around a quarter of the bag (~1.25 pounds) with a gallon and a half of water in a plastic container. 2. Gave the rocks a preliminary washing, then put them in a five gallon plastic bucket and poured the solution over them. 3. Waited two or three days. 4. Neutralized the acid with baking soda, then removed the rocks. 5. Poured the neutralized solution down the drain. I'm happy to report that it worked. The rocks are significantly better off than they were when they went in. If you can find a safe way to transfer it, you can even reuse the acid for a second batch at the end instead of neutralizing it. Be careful when handling the solution, and put it out of reach of children or pets. Use a plastic container and set it on cement or gravel (a little spill left a ring on our wood worktable), perhaps loosely covered with a plastic lid. We didn't want to seal ours because we didn't know if chemical reactions would cause pressure changes. We found that it corrodes leather work gloves, so watch out that it doesn't come in contact with your skin or eyes.

Great for making cedar wood BRIGHT
I used this to brighten the 35 year old cedar wood siding on my shed. After a soft wash with Sodium Percarbonate and a gentle power washing, I applied this oxalic acid via my pressure washer siphon and let it sit (dwell) on the wood for about 15 minutes before rinsing off, making sure to keep adding oxalic acid if any spots started drying. DO NOT LET THIS DRY on your wood. I think the results speak for themselves, my shed looks NEW. Photos are untreated, During Oxalic Acid, and after drying a few hours.

Excellent value!
I am using this to bleach the hardwood floors in my house because of severe water damage from over flowing toilets, as I hear it, some cans of something (prolly tomatoes) expired and leaked all over the floor and turned the section black, before I came to own this home. So far so good! Once I removed the varnish layer on the black space, mixed up a solution of oxalic acid, applied it and let it sit, removed the acid, after a second application, it has worked pretty good! A word of advice, the oxalic acid as a powder and a liquid is dangerous, please wear proper safety gear, acid resistant gloves, a mask rated for organic vapors, acid gasses, a pair of full eye cover goggles, and cover your skin from stray spray or droplets. I am also using some of this to restore some of my grandfather's tools (removing rust) I will come back and let you know how that went.
