GARDENA Metal Alloy Hose Connector with Water Stop

I've wanted to switch to some kind of quick disconnect system over the years, having seen a plot of professional/commercial applications in nurseries and the like (and tiring of the battle to spin accessories on/off hoses over the years), but up until now, nothing had been satisfactory. The few I tried, whether metal or plastic, were always just absolute junk and turned me off to the whole concept.Enter the Gardena products and, in particular, this adapter. I bought it to swap out for the plastic one that came with my 7-in-1 Gardena sprayer, because you can't snug the plastic ones down without fear of breaking it and I wanted something that would endure better in the desert sun. There are still plastic parts on this adapter, of course, but not the critical connection to the hose where you want to snug it up and prevent any leaks. And, for those curious, unlike the grey vs. orange (Euro vs. North American) thread issue, I encountered absolutely no leaks when using these on my good old USA-made hoses. Whether it's because you can tighten them more or because they fit North American hose, I cannot say, but they don't leak a drop and that's the bottom line.In terms of fit and finish, these bad boys are miles ahead of the junk at the home improvement and big box retail outlets. They are heavy/weighty in the hand and that heft almost always correlates with quality. No cheap parts, no cheap metal, just loads of German engineered and German-made, uncompromising quality. The connections are quick, simple and rock solid, especially when coupled with metal adapters, although these will work with either metal or plastic versions, as they are fully interchangeable.In my case, I snagged two of these and one of the 39022-G premium metal adapters, and was able to rig up a complete system for my backyard needs. Slap the 39022-G on one end of your hose, the 39018 on the other and then a second 39018 to your hose bib and voila. You can now quick disconnect your watering implements (e.g. sprayers, sprinklers, etc.) from the end of the hose AND you can disconnect the hose from the hose bib at will. For those that might want to store their hose or be able to quickly remove it to make it easier to untangle or coil up, this will save you tons of time. Being able to swivel it on both ends will also make it easier to deal with snags/kinks.I could not be happier, and I am re-ordering another set to do the same setup with the hose in my front yard. Absolutely fantastic product, light years ahead of the import junk and other garbage out there. Highly recommended.

This is not something I would normally write a review for. But I have purchased from your local Lowe’s and Home Depot the generic brand that they carry. And both of those last one season. There seems to be a lot of line in calcification that gets added to it and then they just don’t work anymore or like all the time.I got these at the beginning the season and they are holding up. I am totally amazed at how much better these are built. Stay away from plastic ones! Stay away from the steel ones! These are aluminum and they do exactly what they’re supposed to do. My worst case is next season I might have to replace the rubber but maybe not. I ended up buying multiple sets and I am happy with these. If you’re looking for something that is worth an investment long-term I think these are at. They seem very well and they seem to work with our heavy duty use.

Gardena makes excellent products. This replaced a cheaper all plastic coupler that failed in. Short time (several of them). No comparison in the quality & durability. Buy once and rest assured it will outlast the spray nozzle.

These are the highest quality quick connect fittings I have ever used. (Other "buy it for life" brands I considered were Eley and Dramm, both reportedly equally good but less available on Amazon.) The internals are all metal, and the corresponding "tap" male component is also all metal. They fit with a satisfying click, do not leak, and disconnect smoothly. I did use a touch of anti-seize on the threads to head off any galvanic corrosion as a result of dissimilar metals being in contact. Don't waste your money buying inferior fittings, they will all fail within a year.

The Gardena 39022-G Premium Metal Watering Accessory Adapter, I purchased is sturdy, made well, and easily added to my garden hose accessories. These adapters make switching out garden hose accessories super easy and quick! There hasn't been any leaking so the seals are made well. I would purchase more of these, and do recommend this product to friends, family, and to you!

I’m not sure if this product is any better in metal compared to plastic variants (maybe the metal one lasts longer), but it surely looks nice and works perfectly. The downside: way too high price! But still, it looks nice and works perfectly - just like the plastic variant would maybe work, too.Giving 5 stars anyway, because we do not complain the price of Ferrari sports cars either (and they usually are reddish as well)

What a brilliant device! I have needed it for years but didnt know such a thing existed.I clean up after my dogs do their thing on my patio. While I have a faucet spigot outside my patio fence I have always had the problem having to turn off the water when switching from the deck wash bottle that connects to the hose for soaping the patio and taking it off to put on the power nozzle to rinse it clean.This item stops the flow of water so you can readily switch from one garden hose attachment to the other w/o having to turn off the water. It comes with just one adapter but you can get more (one for each such bottle or nozzle you may want to use) for a few dollars at Osh or Home Depot. While other products like this may exist, this is of great quality. Buy it.
