Cool knife from Spyderco
I decided it was time to add a little functionality to my key chain. I already have a Fenix light, and a Gerber Shard to help in a pinch but I yearned for a small blade to have just in case I didn't have a folding knife with me. I didn't want anything menacing or too big and the Bug definitely was a great choice. It's tiny to the point it is almost cute but the blade is still wickedly sharp and every bit of quality you'd expect from Spyderco, just in a micro size. The all stainless steel look is pretty classy, too. Obviously, it's a slip joint lock so this isn't something you want to use as a heavy duty cutter. It's small enough to be functional but that's about it. Light duty tasks like opening boxes, envelopes, cutting string etc is all suitable for this tiny knife. But again, it's just too small to safely attempt anything beyond that. Even so, great have to have because it will always be with you (unless you happen to be flying or going in a courtroom, don't forget to remove it). It's actually just a tad smaller than my Victorinox keychain knife and MUCH sharper. Despite the familiar Spyderco hole, opening this thing is 2 handed affair. Still looks cool, though. I'm almost tempted to throw a zip tie in the hole and see if I can manage to open it with just my thumb. But then again, the small stature and classy look is perfect and I can live with decreased functionality. On a side note, when I first opened the little gift box it comes in, there was a small spot of rust on the blade. I buffed it out with a Dremel and some CLP and it actually opens a lot smoother now. Awesome and surprisingly small blade for your keys!

Best EDC knife to own
I cannot believe how sharp this little knife is. It is cute, tiny and SHARP! I purchased a key organizer called a quiet carry mini Q and it has a larger blade, but this tiny little Spyderco Bug cuts through amazon boxes, tape, that thick cardboard type tape and even zip ties better than the $50 knife in the mini q cuts. The bug is literally the perfect size EDC knife, especially for people who just want a simple small blade for basic everyday tasks. I could probably easily slice an apple with it as well if I wanted to. It's perfect for opening boxes, cutting strings off clothes and removing staple from papers when your stapler remover disappears. It's the perfect size to go on a keychain because it's smaller than your keys and won't bulge or weigh down your pocket. It does take me two hands to open it, but I've never been in a situation where I needed to open a knife so quickly and only had one hand to do so. The blade is nice and stiff when you use it. I'm not worried about it opening in my pocket or closing on me when I'm using it. I will be purchasing these for all of my family because it's easily one of the most perfect purchases I have ever made on amazon. It's small, simple and sharp. These will be great small size Christmas presents that will actually be appreciated by family and not something they wish they could exchange or end up regifting.

Cool series of knives
I am really impressed with this series of knives by Spyderco. They are made in China but seem to be made to Spydercos standards. I ordered multiple copies of all three in the series and every one of them are the same high quality. They all came very sharp, and sharp as any of my other Spyderco knives. The smallest one, the Bug, is going to be a challenge to sharpen I think, but then I don't think it will see a whole lot of use either. The size makes them perfect for situations that limit blade size or locking knives as well as for use in pocket survival kits. I am really hoping that the TSA will allow them now with the rule change in April but the "molded handle" restriction of the TSA makes me wonder how they will define this. Quickly, about the three; The Grasshopper is a good size knife. It's small, but large enough to still use. I can get a pretty solid three finger grip on it and it feels pretty decent. The HoneyBee is the smallest I would want to use personally. It's really just a bit too small for me and I would only choose it if I had no way of carrying the Grasshopper. The Bug is too small for me and I can't find any real use for it except maybe in a pocket survival kit as a very last ditch knife.

SPYDERFECTION
First off, this is an amazing little knife. And when I say little, I mean "half the size of a key" little. It goes on your keychain, so it is a phenomenal quick access backup. if you keep your EDC knife on a maxpedition bag or something similar, sometimes u may leave it somewhere for a minute and just have your keys on you. This happens to me all the time. With this little baby, you will be good to go. Pros: 1. phenomenal price! 2. Usability - I use this knife as much if not more than any other of my 119 knives. Maybe that is why the CEO of spyderco used this as his EDC for over a year. 3. Perfect gift for anyone. Knife lover or not, anyone can use this. And the 10.00 price point is a great, small, spur of the moment way of showing someone they are special. It's tough to find a fail proof gift that u know will be liked and used for 10.00. 4. Cool factor - I have knives that range from 10.00 to 1,500.00. This is unique because it is the smallest knife I own, the smallest knife spyderco makes, and maybe the smallest knife ever. This is a friction folder meant for very basic cutting tasks (tape, string, etc). I carry a keychain pocket tool also, but who wants to open up a pocket tool and extract the knife when you just need something quick. This is one of the coolest, most unique and most functional knives I own. I love that amazon carries a great array of Spydies, some of which are very hard to find elsewhere. Spyderco is one of the top two or three mid to upper tier production knife companies. ZT and Benchmade are the other two. Enjoy

great
awesome, fits in my wallet, finally feel like an edc guy with my elephant wallet which holds my tiny knife, tiny pen, car keyfob, ID and credit cards even my microfiber cloth for glasses and camera sharp and high quality what else can I ask for? I'm now the weirdo who steps up when someone asks "does anyone have a knife?"

Great LITTLE knife
To begin with, I'm not a knife lover. I use them for a purpose and then move on with life. Types of metals don't really interest me all that much. Can I put an edge on it and do I use it are the only questions I care about. I do own a bunch of different types of knives but they are all for everyday use. Please keep that in mind when reading this. The knife is ridiculously small. It almost doesn't register as a knife. I wouldn't trust it past opening a package or the occasional odd job. That's not a bad thing, because it sits on my key ring and I use it just for that. It has a keen edge right out of the box and can hold it for awhile. It is inconspicuous because of it's size which is just what I want from it. It opens with the right amount of give when I juiced it up with break free. Closes easily. I really don't consider it a true knife. It's a tiny little specilized blade that works well as a letter opener. Anything past that I would take out my Kershaw knives as they are bigger and do a lot more. But for the money it does it's job and stays hidden.

Dang this thing is tiny
I dig it, I wasn’t sure what I was expecting but I dig Spyderco so it’s cool. Check it out it’s smaller than a normal sized key. Seem like initial quality is ok I guess it’s probably made in China, whatever it will only see occasional use I just hope I don’t happen to forget it and TSA siezes it that happened to me once I forgot I had a nice Spydrrco in my backpack and dang it I had to surrender it because I didn’t have time to go back through and “mail it to myself”. Looks sharp enough, I like that it’s all stainless. Should hold up ok I reckon.

Tiny but Sharp!
I wanted a small knife to carry as a backup to either a Victorinox or a Leatherman. This works perfectly for that role. It was smaller than I had pictured, but is as described. It is extremely sharp, but easily pocketable.

Perfect for the times you require a small knife.
Being a Spydaco knife you're getting great workmanship. The knife easily conforms to UK carry standards, and unlike cheap box blades, this knife retains a good edge and sharpness for the time you might need to open a box or cut some string. Although it's more expensive than others, I like the sturdiness of the knife. It is a tiny thing, however, so if you have grip problems with your hands then it might not be the easiest knife for you to open. The upside is it's weight, and you can even put this into a coin purse to carry it around. As I said, it easily conforms to UK standards for knives on your person, although some places don't allow knives of any kind, this one doesn't lock, and the blade is less than 3 inches, thus making it okay for everyday carry. If you don't mind paying a bit more, then hopefully this is the little knife you can count on in an emergency.

Me gusta.
