iFi iPower X - Low Noise Power Supply DC Adapter – Upgrade Your Audio/Video/Electronics (12V)

I have a Fluance RT85N turntable. It had a slight hum which I have been chasing for the six months I've owned it! Well I decided to try this I-POWER X BLACK 12V power supply. All I can say is wow! Hum is gone! Highly recommend this product. It's a big relief whew....

I purchased this to be used with the Fosi Audio ZD3 dac and guess what? It absolutely helps improve the sound with greater detail, separation, and resolution. I would not use the ZD3 with the stock charger as it is a night and day difference. Buy this and you won't regret it! Definitely no snake oil. Linear power supply does improve sound on my dac / system.

Bought some replacement powered desktop speakers and found myself underwhelmed by their sound. They seemed a bit muddy. Mid-range heavy and lacking in low bass and treble. There was also a low hiss when no audio was playing. I've done a lot of audio production work, and I'm sensitive and attentive when listening to music. I decided I would send the speakers back in a week and try different ones. While researching power conditioners I spotted this replacement power supply. This more expensive version matched the 12v/2amp power supply of my new speakers. I decided it would be an interesting experiment before sending the speakers back. I was fully expecting to return them both. Plugged it in. The background hiss was gone. Started playing some tracks on Tidal and found myself really enjoying those new speakers. They sound full, clear, detailed, with extra range. I wouldn't have said that yesterday. I honestly didn't expect this. I've decided to keep both, as I'm really enjoying what I hear.

These ifi power supplies take a very long time to break in and "hopefully" settle down. One day they can make your equipment sound fantastic almost out of this world, then the next day things sound horrible. Be prepared to deal with this agony if you want to try these.

Really worked well for my DAC magic 200m .. better sound stage and cleaned up the bass to the point I can hear basslines that were buried in the mix before. Def worth the $$ .

Very poor quality. Very noise switching supply. As soon as it’s plugged in it in it generated RFI (Radio Interference) on FM and Shortwave that was masking weak stations with switch mode power supply noise, it’s a buzzing type noise. Running on batteries or another linear power supply no noise was encountered with my two different radios. In fact just holding the power jack close to the radio was an issue. Plugging it in made DX radio fruitless. As others in the radio community have commented, this is a waste of money. It also came looking like a returned item but was actually labeled new product. I tested ifi iPower X, 12v/2amp version on Archel 2.5 pro's and xDuoo TA-01b's stock power supply. xDuoo TA-01b: What I noticed was brighter treble, less congested mids, bass was less but tighter impact, better separation and better sound stage. It was way better than random power supply. Archel 2.5 pro amp: What I noticed was less soundstage and it made the mids more congested. Overall negative results. It makes sense because Geshelli Labs makes everything with measurements in mind even with their power supply. Conclusion: your mileage may vary. For $100 you can pick up iFi AC iPurifier instead. iFi AC iPurifier sounds consistent for all my set ups: warmer sound and better separation. However ifi iPower X is still better than ifi DC iPurifier/2: it overfilters and causes rolled off treble and bloated mids.

I live in a condo built in the 70s with aluminum wiring. Needless to say we have VERY dirty power. My pedalboard was quiet enough but did suffer from some extra noise, especially when running heaters in the winter. Once I switched to running my board with the iFi supply the board became dead silent and sounded even more crisp. The BIG notice is my classic 108 fuzz which used to pick up radio stations. It is now dead quiet.

Does not work as advertised. A gimmick too good to be true. Do NOT buy.

Paired with RME ADI-2 FS. Texture, image and coherence are better than the bundle power adapter. But not a huge difference. Buyer needed to evaluate the cost effectiveness.

Ce produit IPOWER X nettoie bien le courant mais supprime la musicalité du même coup! enlève de la consistance à la musique, tout devient trop mince. Je l’ai essayé sur une (switch box). Merci.
