Small Sardines with Sweet Piquillo Peppers

So Sardines, are a food that only a few will enjoy. I think like with any food though, you have the best, which will make you want to try more, or be adventurous, then you have the worst, that will make you regret ever eating said food as you worship the porcelain gods. This product for me at least, ranks up their as something pretty good! King Oscar's finest bristling sardines, in virgin olive oil, are normally my go to, I wouldn't eat anything else. To be honest though, its something that lacks in a flavor I prefer. So reading the reviews I decided to try this product out. These Matiz with sweet piquillo peppers are an honest to goodness little treat! The combination flavor wise, goes together really really well! I'm not easily impressed. But this really hit the spot. I decided to eat them with some "Miss Vickies Farmhouse White Cheddar" chips, which was a wonderful combo of flavor, & crunchyness! I will say though, the first can I tried, the peppers and oil and fish had not really blended all that great for some reason? It was good-the second can, was striking gold flavor wise. Anyways, if you like sweet peppers, & you like sardines, this is something worth giving a shot to. I know I will buy more of these. As grateful as I am to find these on Amazon, I hope I can order a 12pk somewhere, maybe save a little money on ordering in bulk? Because 3 tins, for 13 dollars plus shipping. Well I'll definitely not be gorging myself on these anytime soon. That's for certain!

These are by far THE BEST tasting quality sardines I have ever had. I thought the King Oscars were good, but these blow them out of the water. Pun intended, lol. Seriously, from the moment I opened the can and saw how beautiful they looked, so bright, the oil not heavy, and very clear. Taking them out they didn’t fall apart, and once the piquillo peppers on the bottom of the can were placed on top of them it looked even more appetizing. SO delicious and not fishy at all! Perfect. My new favorite. Will be buying these on a regular basis. Another great part.... Sodium was only 312 whereas King Oscars are around 560!! Yikes!

I sent these as part of a care package to my Grandson who is a sophomore in college and had just gotten his first apartment. His father had told me he likes protein snacks and that he liked sardines. This version with sweet peppers seemed perfect.

Very high quality sardines in delicious oil with enough sweet piquillo chunks to give them a lovely extra flavor. My favorite sardines. They are pricey, but well worth it for a treat. Fabulous on a nice whole grain cracker.
