Good sound and value, long battery time, whole-house coverage. The high quality you expect from AT&T
Sep 30 2016 Works as advertised. Very good sound quality and range. I bought a few extra handsets so that I have phones everywhere I need them, even on the porch. The handsets are very lightweight, and the standby time is far longer than older phones. The instruction manual wasn't quite correct on the setup, so I lost some time trying to link each handset with the base unit. A bit of internet research solved the problem, so once I learned the trick I was able to quickly mate the handsets with the base unit. (hint: it involves putting tin foil on your head and reciting a chant). I program each handset with different ring tones and volumes such that my office doesn't hear the home phone, and the bedroom doesn't hear the office phone. My only disappointment so far is that each handset can't be named (i.e. "Office") in the handset display. So we sometime return the wrong handset to its charger and get rings in the wrong place. Not a big problem, solved with a sticker, but some way to electronically label each phone in its display (as found in other phones) would be a nice update to the firmware. So if you need an inexpensive 2-line cordless set with good battery time, and sufficient range for whole-house coverage, then consider this model. I've always had good luck with AT&T products, and this one hasn't let me down. I've had it over a year and have it's always worked well for me.

GREAT BASIC PHONE SET
I purchased this phone set to replace a Panasonic KXTGA950B set. The Panasonic was a total bust. I left a 1 star review for it on the product page because it didn't work. This one was $50 less and it works beautifully. Clear instructions, ease of use, static free sound on both headsets and speaker phone, great range and sufficient features for a technically challenged person like me. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles the Panasonic had, no link to cell or bluetooth feature, but if you want a basic, clear sounding 2 line phone with intercom, speaker phone, hold button, ample storage in the directory and a place to plug in a headset this is a winner. Instructions are clear and easy to follow and, unlike the Panasonic, these phones actually work. The Panasonic had a larger screen but that's about the only good difference in these 2 phones. This was my 3rd set of Panasonics, the first two lasted about 3 years each, then they would simply fade away and new batteries didn't help. Hopefully this set of AT&T will last a bit longer.

Liked phone and it does the job fine
Liked phone and it does the job fine. Only suggestion for improvement on the phone system would be for the phone to automatically roll over to the other line when the first line is in use and for it automatically roll over to the second line when making another call or answering the phone for an incoming call. Several times accidentally interrupted other people's phone calls when trying to pick up the phone or to make a call on the other line. The Panasonic phone system this AT&T replaced had that feature and we never accidentally picked up on someone else's call. Overall a good phone system. Range is a little better than the Panasonic.

Excellent, easily customizable phone system for 2-line house with small home business
I waited a month before reviewing this item, because it annoys me when people post a review three hours after opening the box. We have two phone lines - one for my home business and the other for the family. This unit was very easy to set up, and it took me less than 20 minutes to set up the base and synch all the portables. I am no electronics expert, and if it takes you much longer than that (other reviews) - it's not the product's fault; you're just not paying attention to the clear step-by-step instructions. There's a simple sequence that must be followed, so, just - - follow it. Choosing different ring tones was also easy, as was having two different settings for the answering machine. I want the unit to pick up calls to the family after 3 rings, but not pick up at all for my business calls, which I prefer to handle through my cable company so I can easily access my business calls when away from the office (there's a simple button on the base for each line to turn answering on/off). That's just how I like it, the point is that it's easily customizable to your preference. Call quality is just fine on both regular mode and speaker mode, and I get full coverage throughout the whole house from the base downstairs. Caller ID on all portables is very useful. Does not synch with my cell phone, but I really didn't need or want that feature especially at significant added cost. I always have my cell phone with me anyway for texts, quick email or news updates, so why have a portable phone that syncs for calls only? For me, that wouldn't allow me to put my cell phone by the front door so why bother? Bottom line, both my wife and I are very satisfied with this system for our family's needs as well as those of my small home business.

An easy solution ot a problem
I have a web store, which I run out of my home. I used to have the separate phone numbers on separate phones but that got confusing, a lot of running to answer ringing phones (only 2 with the store # in the house, wiring issues). I wanted 1 phone system, 2 lines and 2 different rings. Cable said no, using a cell phone for the second line did not work too well either. Then I found this system. It has every feature I wanted. Different rings, different answering messages=- all in one phone unit with multiple satellite phones. I am not tech genius but the system was easy enough to set up. There was a review here that said," just read the instructions". I did and it worked. A real solution for a real problem.
