Fastest delivery EVER! When ordered, I saw the delivery date was TWO days! The wife and I laughed and laughed. Two days later it was here! Arrived in excellent shape, Packing still intact. Kayak is as promised. Excellent condition, high quality. Kayak is all that comes. My introduction to a boat being "a hole in the water you pour money into". Had to order paddles, life vest, an inexpensive cart to haul it around and dry bags to keep stuff dry.. Only weighs 44 pounds but that can be a lot for some people. (like me, I'm old) Still need an anchor, ropes, and a whistle.

This was a gift for my husband and I’m so glad I got it. It’s hardshell so there no worry about inflating any part of it which added to its stability. My husbands 5’10 so I worried that there wouldn’t be proper leg room but it fit perfectly. I will say that it didn’t come with a paddle. There is a back rest chair for comfort and support. Along with slots for his fishing gear that can be easily accessed. It’s a bit on the heavier side I would recommend transport with two people.

This kayak has many features that appeal to me, including its fishing layout, light weight, portability, and the company manufacturing out of Quebec. The kayak tracks impressively straight for such a small craft, and it quickly gets up to speed while paddling. It is very maneuverable, and does not carry the inertia of the heavy-weight fishing kayaks out there. But, there are a few oversights and weaknesses of this product that give it less than a five-star rating, in my opinion. The most obvious is that the seat is positioned in a non-draining well, which means that one's bottom will get wet and stay wet for the entire ride. There are several molded areas of the deck that capture and retain water. The seatback is weak and supplies little back support. The adjustable footpegs are ok, but not great. Although stable enough for those familiar with kayaking, it is fairly easy to rock the boat enough to ship water over the gunnels, due to very low freeboard, so this might not fit the bill for beginners or for heavier people. There is no access to areas below deck, so attaching any accessories necessitates the use of screws or rivets through the thin plastic instead of through-bolting with backing plates. The only way to access under the deck is to install a waterproof hatch, sold separately, which, according to the Pelican website, will void the lifetime warranty for areas around the installed hatch. Overall, I think this is a good kayak for protected lakes and bays, and offers good fishability and portability. I suspect many buyers will opt to purchase an upgraded aftermarket seat, which will add to the cost of an otherwise reasonably priced kayak.

Great little kayak for the money. Purchased it as my 1st kayak & I can't complain. Very stable, just wish it came w/ a paddle.

Comfortable and easy to manuver

The pelican sentinel is a good fishing kayak that is stable and comfortable. Unfortunately the one I ordered arrived broken so I have to return it. This seems to be a regular problem with kayaks from Amazon. Interestingly the damage my kayak had is very similar to others: the keel is broken or misshapen to the point that the kayaks integrity and performance are compromised. Not sure how these kayaks are being stored, but it's causing them to be defective.

I was actually going to return this because I am a heavier person and needed a larger weight capacity, but I gifted it to my sister instead. It's very lightweight, easy to transport, moves fairly quickly and accurately through the water, and is pretty stable. I love that it has a storage cockpit too! This is way easier to transport solo than the catch mode 110 (which is what I have).

I think this Kayak is everything it should be at the price point it's at. This is one of the best purchases I've made in my start to fishing this year. It's very stable given the size, I'm 200lbs and even when lifting a fish into the kayak it barely affects the general stability. With normal amounts of effort, you can paddle fast enough to get around a smaller lake or a basic river. The two fishing rod holders can be slightly difficult to reach back to but not so much that I wouldn't give this kayak a full 5 stars. The paddle holder on either side of the boat is easy and convenient to store or retrieve your paddle. I've been moving this kayak with a standard size 4 door sedan with both seats down, it's very portable! I fully recommend to get off the shore and into this kayak, you won't regret it.

I had always wanted to kayak and this year, I did it! I bought this kayak based on reviews and found it excellent! As mentioned, I had never kayaked before and this was easy to get into, not as easy to get out but I did it with the help of my sister. I bought the sit on for stability and the sit in kinda scared me. My sister has bought one of these and now they are back in stock and a friend has just bought one! I highly recommend this kayak, it is easy to use and with 2 people can easily carry it! Bought the Scupper Plugs to go with it, you will not be disappointed!

Arrived yesterday separate from the shipping bag and is missing the center console. Truck drivers said the bag is not secured well and it slipped out of the end. Other than a few minor hull scratches, it looks great. Have not tried it yet so will update after being out on the water. Edit: Contacted Pelican and they shipped the missing center console at no charge. Great service! Also tried the boat lake trout fishing last week in windy weather and it was very stable, easy to paddle, and comfortable. A bit tricky climbing in and out but you get used to that quickly. Easy to slide onto my SUV roof racks, upside down. 5 stars!

This is a nice light kayak. I bought it for my teenagers to use. It is better for smaller paddlers. The seat is basic but reasonably comfortable. It is entry level but decent for the price.
