We have purchased four microwaves in four years, and there was always something wrong with each one. No matter how closely we read the reviews and complaints, we could not find what we considered to be a good one. Until now. This Breville is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Truly. It is quiet (NO dings when you set it, NO dings when it finishes its cycle, and best of all NO slamming of the door when you close it). And its compact size means that it does not take up half of your butler’s pantry. But don’t let its small size fool you. It is a workhorse. It accommodates a full size dinner plate and the controls allow you to precisely set the percentage if you need somethng other than 100%. I made Melissa Clark’s lemon curd in it the other day (Yes! You can make lemon curd in a microwave!), and I was able to precisely set the level of heat required for each step of the recipe. We love this freaking microwave!

Unfortunately this Breville was purchased as “Like new, no scratches on scream with slightly damaged packaging”. Generally this has been a great way to save on some items but NOT for this Microwave! It had been double boxed and placed upside down in the second box resulting in a deep Dent on the upper right back corner. We decided it was too risky to keep an appliance that appeared to have been crushed which could have damaged the electronics and returned it for a full refund. However, this little Breville had all the features we were looking for so we purchased it from our Local Best Buy Store to avoid any mishaps! WE LOVE IT! It is so QUIET & easy to use with a gentle pull open & soft close door ! NO more loud clanging sound when you open or shut the door handle, just a gentle pull and as you push the door to close it literally closes itself, with a soft sound. We also turned off the end cycle and the child lock to completely take advantage of all of its gentle handling and Sound free features. It’s so quiet and easy to use it you know your food is ready when you hear a quiet click and read, “END”. The push button panel and dial are also a huge asset because you can add and take away seconds when cooking to make adjustments, especially for arthritic hands. Last but not least it is the perfect size for small kitchens, beautiful & does a fabulous job cooking🙏

I love to cook and bake, all of our meals are eaten at home with food I prepare. Well, our old Panasonic microwave had served its purpose, having been bought in 2000, 26 years ago! It was in need of replacement, and I wanted a small, compact microwave that was easy to use and would fit in the cut-out cabinet spot where our old microwave rested. As we LOVE our Breville Countertop Oven, my first choice was a Breville Microwave. This Breville BMO650SIL Compact Wave Soft Close Countertop Microwave Oven was my first choice, and it is PERFECT for our needs! - A compact size with a sleek, easy to use design. - Simple to wipe clean. - Outstanding quality of design, materials, and appearance. Love the sturdy foot rests! - The owner's manual is very informative. - If you do not care for the child lock safety feature (we did not), it is easy to turn off by pushing 3 buttons on the display, as instructed in the owner's manual. - The soft close feature is AWESOME! (See video.) My husband said he would purchase this microwave just for this soft close feature. - Reliable power in the various settings. Cook times are as expected. This Breville microwave is a terrific value, too. I highly recommend this product.

I read the reviews before buying this so I knew there was a high risk of this having a short life. I purchased it in August of 2025 and it’s now April 2026, didn’t make it a full year. I barely used it. Maybe once a week for 2 minutes. It still looks brand new. My microwave shut off while using it and went completely black. I unplugged it- the top part was very hot. (It did this once before but didn’t overheat and came back on) Chat says it’s now too dangerous to use even if it does end up turning back on. I’m super bummer because I loved this microwave. It’s small and fits on my counter and looks nice. The spin dial and auto lock on the door were my favorite features. People would compliment it. I hate ugly microwaves. If it lasted me at least a year, I’d consider replacing it but I will find something else

My wife hated the microwave I had bought. It was noisy. The turntable rattled every time. It beeped to start, it beeped to stop, it beeped if you ignored it. Controls were unpleasant, so mostly we just set a time and stopped it when we thought the drink was warm enough or the food likely defrosted. Microwaves, we reasoned, are a necessarily evil in the kitchen and not much more. It lasted a long time, but never happily. When she destroyed it (inadvertently she said) we looked at every microwave offered on Amazon. Breville caught our eye since we had other (expensive) Breville devices. And this one, while more expensive than some of the others we saw, was quiet. Yes quiet. No beeps (if you turn them off). Quiet, elegant closing mechanism. Rock solid, quiet turntable. Simple clear controls. Correct size for the space. Adequate power. Good reviews. We have had it now for a few months and my wife praises it constantly. I am sure, though, it is just to remind me of the horrid cheap one that I bought and that she had endured for so long.

You can barely hear it when it's working. The soft close is quiet and requires just a gentle tap to close. It's a bit small but big enough for a single person. It has a child lock feature but it's easy to deactivate it. The temperature control button is easy to figure out and use. My only complaint is that the interior is dark gray, making it harder to see food, despite the insight light bulb. I solved this problem by placing an off-white silicone liner on the carousel. It reflects the light well, making it easy to see the food. Highly recommend!

This seems to be a high quality small microwave that fits into a kitchen. It is attractive, slight retro, with clear displays and easy to work. The soft door close is a nice feature. It is easy to work, with the dial to set time. It works efficiently and quietly for a microwave oven.

I recently bought this microwave for my home. I really like the soft close door and ability to turn off all sounds. It’s easy to use and is well designed. Build quality is very high as you’d expect at this price point. Overall I’m very happy with it.

This microwave is actually attractive. I don’t have a shelf or an overhead area in my kitchen to put in the microwave so I put it on a wooden kitchen cart. You can turn the sound off on this microwave so it’s super quiet. It works perfectly. it’s unobtrusive and modern looking, anything I’ve ever bought from Breville is great
