If your cat is happy, the whole house is happy!
This is a great idea for cats. One of our cats used to wait until we were done with a shower and should would jump in and drink the water. We also had an issue where the cats were getting bladder infections. This fixed both those issues. My understanding is that most animals are on the verge of dehydration, it's just how it is. This is the perfect product to entice you feline to drink more and stay healthy and remain happy. If you are a cat lover, you know what happens if your furry friend isn't happy, and we don't won't them urinating everywhere. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these. We leave it plugged in all the time, have only had to replace the filter once. and keep the water topped off. Replace the water every so often. We had the idea not to use the filter once, however, it IS needed. You won't realize how much hair gets in the water until it plugs the pump and you lose pressure. So we replaced the filter, cleaned the hair from the pump and it continues to work great, very reliable! So I would just order extra filter(s) when you purchase.

This will turn your Catit Water fountain into an actual water fountain!!
If you use this kind of fountain buy themes as a replacement instead of the thicker plastic carbon ones. The oh thing about this fountain that was a little disappointing was that it didn't look or sound like one. The water just kind of moved around. BUT, with these refills you get both of those things. They aren't as thick, yet work just as good, so there is that little extra room that this fountain needed to ...well...look and sounding a fountain! The originals that came with the fountain were too thick so there wasn't room for the water to do what it was supposed to do. Now my kitties absolutely love this fountain to drink from. It flows over the round cover piece and makes little fountain noises when it comes over. It's not Niagara falls but it definitely does the trick. I highly recommend using these as a replacement for this particular drinking fountain for cats. By using these you actually get what you thought you were getting when you bought this water fountain....an actual "tiny, water moving and flowing, water trickling and sounding like" water fountain!! KJNOLAN :)

Less expensive than pet stores
We received the Catit fountain as a gift for our 15 lb. dog, who LOVES drinking from it! It was great to find these replacement filters on Amazon.com, they were less expensive than any pet stores in our area, and arrived promptly. The fountain holds about a gallon of water and the filters keep it very clean and free from pet hair and household dust. They can be rinsed weekly and last for about a month (maybe longer for a smaller dog or a cat). We will continue to purchase these filters from Amazon and recommend the Catit fountain to all cat and small dog owners. Amazing product!

Catit Fountain Filters: Good Fit, Good Manufacturing, Reasonable Price
I often have reservations about purchasing fountain filters or vacuum cleaner bags, thanks to multiple experiences of poor fit and/or poor manufacturing with same. So it was a pleasant surprise to open this package of replacement filters and discover that everything was just perfect. I soaked the new filter in a bowl of cold water for 10 minutes, during which time I cleaned out the fountain. After rinsing, the filter fit perfectly, and it works well. More importantly, we had none of the water-clouding problems that sometimes haunt carbon-based filters. Even with multiple cats, I don't have to change the filter every time I fill up the fountain. And I'm very fussy about the water quality, so that's saying a lot about the filter. This fountain has been a success at our house - all of the cats are drinking more water, and the cat who likes to dance in the water bowl can't do that with this fountain. Hurray!

This Catit filter actually allows the water to pass THRU it.
I use the Catit Flower fountain and from the beginning I was using the filter design with the hard plastic frame on the bottom of it. Some of them would float out of the filter seat so that the water would just slip under the filter and not get any filtering. Then there were others that fit better & wouldn't float up out of position. But with these the water would filter thru so slowly that the water would back up & overflow the top of the fountain! Again, the water wasn't being filtered well. So I decided to give these Catit soft filters. They are simpler than the others, they fit into the filter seat of the fountain and do not float out of position. The water passes thru and is well filtered. The cat's drinking water stays very clean; much better than before! They last a long time. Change to these if you want your cat's water properly filtered.

Why don't these fit the water fountain?
I used to have the older blue-and-white Catit Fresh & Clear water fountain, and the filters that came with that fountain fit snugly in the fountain. In that particular fountain, the filter was the perfect size for the interior circumference of the fountain. The edges of the filter touched the sides of the fountain. Not so with this new bag of filters and fountain. Not long ago, I bought a new Catit water fountain, the green-and-white style. (I guess Catit redesigned the original model.) The filters I ordered from Amazon were supposed to fit the green-and-white Catit Fresh & Clear water fountain. That's what the filter bag states, and that's what the bag depicts. For some reason though, the filters don't nestle inside the green-and-white fountain. There's a lip/ledge around the inside of the fountain itself; the filters just sit on this ledge. This leaves a small gap between the edge of the filter and the side of the fountain. In the old fountain, there was no gap and the water had to pass through the filter. With the new filters and new green-and-white Catit fountain, the water can flow around the filter as well as through the filter. How exactly is this filtering the water? It filters a lot of the water but not all of it. If you want the filter to fit inside this lip, you have to stuff it in there, but that just wrinkles the edges of the filter and creates more gaps. I don't know if there's a design flaw with the fountain itself or with the filters. Did Catit not measure the interior of the fountain and design the filters accordingly? Did I just get a bad batch of filters or a crummy water fountain? I've ordered a total of 7 packs of filters now from 2 different websites and in 3 separate orders, and I have yet to come across a single filter that fits snugly inside the fountain. Every 2-3 weeks I clean the fountain and replace the filter, and there are always bits of food and hair in the bottom of the bowl. There are more bits of food and hair in the filter, which tells me the filter works somewhat, but there is still debris in the bowl itself. If there was another brand of water fountain and filter that "bubbles up" the water instead of sending the water down a "slide" into an open bowl, I'd purchase it. I'm not just thrilled with this new style of Catit water fountain and filter. For now it does the job, but if I can find something better, I'm switching.

Not what came with the fountain
These are not the same filters that came with the fountain, those filters include a water softener as part of a cartridge. These filters are thin, flexible, and are just a standard filter with no softener. Granted I bought these thinking they were going to be similar, and while I was worried the pump would get clogged, these actually turned out to be better than the originals that came with the fountain. First, I don't have slimey cat water. I seemed to get this build up every couple days that left everything in the unit slick feeling and I had to wash it all frequently. The originals also would start to "clog" and the water would be returned mostly using the overflow slot, which defeated the purpose of the filter in the first place. I put these in the fountains as soon as I got them. I have two different types, one with the flower, the other without since I have two cats with different preferences. I've not had any slime problems, water goes through the filter and not the overflow, I've basically had to refill, so this has been working out much better. It also is a bit easier to tell when the water is running low, you can "hear" a water fountain like sound when the water is low, I was guessing with the original filters. Now if they go through more water than usual, I can tell right away and refill their fountains. Would recommend and will use as my replacements from here on.

Great Filters for an AWESOME Cat Fountain!
My cats love this drinking fountain. I bought new filters after our fountain didn't get unpacked through three moves in as many years. I recently found it and started it up again - I honestly think it's been four years. Worked great, just the filter was dusty and needed fresh. The cats still love it as much as ever. One thing I really like about Catit filters is that none of the carbon ever escapes into the water in our experience. We have a pet mate fountain that is mainly for our dog, and their filters seem to randomly leak carbon into the water.

Excellent quality, worth the price to keep water foundtains cleaner.
These things are utterly essential if you have a Cat-It fountain, though you might not think so at first if you live in a place that has decent quality tap water. But the carbon and fibre filters do more than just filter out things that might be in the tap water itself. They also filter out dirt and pet hair that will inevitably make its way into the water fountain no matter how careful you are. Cats being cats -- mine often like to paw at the little streams of water coming from the flower fountain, resulting in pet hair or dirt or whatever was stuck to their paws making its way into the water. The filters help prevent a lot of that crud from just circulating in the water and making it taste bad or just become too dirty to drink from. It's recommended to change the filters about once a week, though in my experience, they can last a bit longer than that if you happen to forget, which speaks well for their quality. Even though the cost of using these regularly can add up, it's a price I'm more than willing to pay to be able to ensure my cats have a good steady water supply that they'll actually enjoy drinking.

Der unsichtbare Held der Hydratation! Und plötzlich schmeckt Wasser wieder nach... Wasser!
Absolute Notwendigkeit!

Excellent filters, works with older and newer models, kitty loves them!
I bought these to replace the old filter in my kitty's Catit Fresh & Clear Fountain. They are excellent quality carbon-backed filters, and as long as you look after them well and wash them out every 3 or 4 days, they last a lot longer than the stated 3 weeks. I change the water in kitty's fountain every 3 or 4 days, so I wash the filter out at the same time and they last for ages. These filters were originally to go with the older-model Catit fountain (white plastic with green contrast) which I used to have, but there is now a newer model (white plastic with dark blue contrast), which I bought recently after the plug on the old one broke, and these filters are compatible with both the old green fountain and the new blue fountain, and fit both versions perfectly. The newer blue model comes fitted with a more sophisticated 'water-softening' filter which is thicker with a plastic casing on it, but it is removable of course, and sits under the round centre part in exactly the same way as these original soft carbon filters do, so when the 'water-softening' filter needs replacing, you can just remove it and replace it with these soft carbon filters instead, which is what I've done. I like these soft filters much more than the plastic-cased water-softening one; these soft ones are half the thickness of the plastic water-softening one, so they take up a lot less room in the top of the fountain and allow a much better flow of water; the water trickles and bubbles a lot more and there is a lot more space for kitty to lap the water, and he definitely prefers the fountain with these thinner soft filters in it! With the thicker plastic-cased filter, the round central part of the fountain (where the water is pumped up from) was almost out of the water (even when the fountain was filled right up to the top) and really in the way, but with these thinner soft filters the central part sits lower and is submerged under 1cm of bubbling water, so kitty can lap to his hearts' content without the central part being in his way, and he likes that a lot more. So all-in-all, really excellent quality and much better than the more sophisticated filters because there is more room to drink, kitty is pleased with them and so am I! Also must mention that the seller, PetGoods4U, was beyond excellent; the filters were dispatched on the 17th and arrived the very next day in less than 24 hours, and the seller was lovely to deal with - I had to ask a question about delivery and the gentleman was ever so friendly and helpful, so thankyou so much to PetGoods4U!
