Revives Leather Like Magic!
The Otter Wax Leather Salve is an incredible product that exceeded my expectations. Hereโs what stood out: Pros: Amazing Conditioning Power: This salve brought my old, worn-out leather boots back to life! It deeply conditions and restores softness without leaving them greasy. All-Natural Formula: Knowing itโs made with all-natural ingredients gives me peace of mind. Itโs gentle yet effective and safe for all types of leather. Versatility: Iโve used it on boots, bags, and even a leather couch, and it worked wonders on each item. Compact and Long-Lasting: The 2oz tin may seem small, but a little goes a long way. Itโs compact and easy to store. Made in the USA: I appreciate supporting a high-quality product thatโs made locally. Cons: Application Takes Time: Because itโs a salve, you need to apply it by hand and buff it in, which can take a bit longer than sprays. However, the results are well worth the effort. No Instant Shine: If youโre looking for a high-gloss finish, this salve wonโt provide that. Itโs more about deep conditioning and restoring. Overall: The Otter Wax Leather Salve is perfect for anyone who wants to rejuvenate and protect their leather items naturally. Itโs effective, versatile, and easy to use with a little patience. Highly recommended for extending the life of your favorite leather pieces!

Works great! Smells good too
Works fantastic! Used on an old, super dry 400.00 Harley Davidson Jacket, it turned out fantastic! I wish I would have tried this product first!

Excellent results, pleasant to work with.
I have both an old pair of Florsheim oxford brogues shoes that have been sadly neglected over the 20 years that I have owned them. I also have a newer causual/hipster tan brogue that has only the front finished and the remainder colored but otherwise unfinished. I purchased the leather salve to revive the old and to protect the new pair. I washed both with saddle soap and dried, then applied the Otterwax leather salve and allowed that to dry. Both the soap with its oils and the salve darkened the leather but not too much. The salve itself goes on smoothly, was readily absorbed by the leather and had a pleasant fragrance. A little does go a long way. After letting it dry and buffing off the excess both shoes looked great. The leather looked nourished and smooth, and the old cordovan brogues came to life. I followed with a treatment with the Otterwax leather oil and allowed that to absorb. Honestly these shoes didn't really need wax after that. The tan shoes lightened up after a day or so but remained supple. The old shoes got a good waxing and look great. Now they clean-up well and take waxing readily. I now use the leather oil on all my shoes the night before I wax them. I highly recommend these products. They are nice to work with and really do the job. I am going to test the salve out on my ageing leather recliner next. P.S. I have no idea why the Amazon review form asks shoe questions and yes I have a lazy dog! P.P.S.-I did try the salve on an old recliner and It worked great. Really brought the leather back to life. It took two applications but the leather is soft and pliable. Definitely worth using this stuff on any leather goods.

Great local product
Iโve worn my black docs for 5 years and my brown docs for a little less than a year. I really like how the product brings out the shine and rejuvenates the leather. It does leave it feeling a little tacky but with a bit of shining it comes out. Also, make sure you donโt put on too much or it will crust up on the leather and leave white residue. (Pictured are two different docs, my brown and black pairs)

Great for Reviving Old Leather โ Easy to Use and Pleasant Scent
I bought the Otter Wax Leather Salve to bring some shine and life back to my daughterโs old boots, and it worked well! The salve is easy to apply and has a pleasant, subtle smell. Itโs water-resistant and helped to restore some durability to the worn leather. I could tell a noticeable difference in the look of the boots after just one applicationโthey look refreshed and protected. The salve is easy to use, and a little goes a long way, so itโs great value for the price. I love that its all-natura, and the fact that itโs made in the USA is a nice bonus. Overall, it did exactly what I neededโrevived the leather and added some much-needed shine. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to restore old leather goods

Looking good
This is it!! It's worth the price!! As with any protectant test a small area as it's oil it may darken the item and if not used properly it may leave a white casting especially on stitching! With that said also keep in mind the color of the rag (I used an old T-shirt) that you're using vs the color of the item. With darker pieces it shouldn't matter, but I was also going to use on a white item and the color of the shirt seemed to transfer, but I rubbed it out with another rag, just FYI. Other that that it works wonderful, left the pieces looking soft, subtle and reformed. I like this better that what I'm used to (kiwi) as it didn't seem to be oily to the touch after using, like the item really soaked it up! Using a product like this can add years to your leather pieces! Very happy with this purchase and would recommend!

Great stuff, but be aware of what it is and what it is for
This is a great product for protecting and water proofing leather. But be advised that it has wax in it, and so it's application requires care depending on what you're using it on. If you get it into stitching, it's going to dry white and you'll have a devil of time getting it out, if you can at all. So using it on couches or dress shoes and boots is probably not a great idea. The wax seals the pores of leather and keeps moisture from penetrating it. I use it on work boots, winter boots that have leather tops, knife sheathes. In all but the last, I'm happy to work it into stitching because it acts as a protectant. It buffs out very nicely, in the areas that you can buff, and over time leads to a wonderful patina on worked leather. The "salve" in it helps to condition leather and keep it supple, but largely as a preservative. The product name is a bit misleading as "salve" does not convey it's waterproofing properties and the care that should be taken with it as a result. Interestingly, on the back of the can, they tout their "Leather Oil" for increased sheen and suppleness. If you're conditioning fine leather on your briefcase, expensive dress boots, and leather furniture, you'd be better served with that product. If you apply this product, the salve, with care to avoid stitches and unfinished leather or suede, it will work well. I see a number of negative review of this based on the fact that it darkened leather. That's a fact of any sort of water proofing or oil-based conditioner on many types of leather and is natural. If you don't want that to happen, choose a product that is not absorbed into the leather.

Don't use for faux leather.
I used this conditioner on both faux leather and genuine leather. I always thought one had to take shoes in to a professional to get this done so I'd never done it because I lacked the extra money. The only leather shoes I had conditioned were my mother's hand-me-down leather flats that she had conditioned professionally just before giving them to me. Brown real leather boots: ~5 or 6 years old, never conditioned Just after the application: definitely darkened the boots, but seems to buff out surface scratches After 3 days: While the scratches were buffed, it looks like the leather has darkened and in some spots there is chalkiness. I can't tell if they were better before or after the conditioning. I followed the directions, it states the leather will lighten as it dries but it did not. Went from chocolate boots to espresso. Black faux leather boots: 1-2 years old, never conditioned Just after the application: appeared more matte/less shiny than unconditioned boot. Likely the "hazy" affect the directions mention, but wouldn't buff out. I was expecting the conditioned to be shinier but that wasn't the case for the faux black leather. After 3 days: Unfortunately this was the saddest result, these boots were relatively new and looked just fine before I tried to condition them and instead now they look chalky and have a very weird texture. Black real leather flats: 8+ years old, not conditioned in the past 4-5 years Just after the application: shiny! Also buffed out the "dusty" look of the old black leather. After 3 days: This is the only pair of shoes that turned out okay. They seem to be supple. I didn't see any apparent chalkiness. Overall verdict: I would not purchase again for faux. All this did was require me to wash my boots again and take them to a professional anyway. I'll keep it handy only for genuine leather, but will use with caution.

Easy to use, neat, smells nice.
Tried this product on my leather hat. I guess it works since this is a recognised brand. Doesnโt cause mess, nice scent too.

Still cloudy even after polishing with soft cloth.
As per the instruction, after the leather absorbed the wax it became cloudy so I used a soft polishing cloth to polish it for half an hours and it still look cloudy/ fade out. Will be getting a horse hair brush to try again.

Product works great. Received wrong size
Otter Wax does a great job of renewing the look of my Blundstones. Works much better than the Blundstone cream. Only negative comment is that the container is smaller than the size posted in the ad. Apparently this is common with this product. Contacted the seller - Otter Wax, they blamed Amazon and would not send me the proper size.
