Great quality and easy to use. Burns quickly using firelighters
I recently tried Alderline Restaurant Grade Charcoal, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The premium quality is evident from the start, as the charcoal is organic, smokeless, and free from any toxins, which ensures a pure and authentic flavor for all my grilled dishes. Whether I'm grilling meat, vegetables, or even fish, the results have been consistently delicious. What really impressed me was how effortlessly the charcoal ignites. There’s no need for lighting fluids or chimney starters, making the BBQ setup quick and hassle-free. I paired it with Alderline's Natural Firelighters, and the process couldn’t have been smoother. Within just 15 minutes, the charcoal is fully ignited and ready for cooking, which is perfect for those spontaneous BBQ sessions. The 30L bag is also well-designed and holds a generous amount of charcoal, equivalent to what you’d get in many other 5kg bags. I also appreciate the waterproof packaging, which keeps the charcoal dry and ready to use. Its versatile nature is another plus, as it works great with different types of grills and even pizza ovens. Whether you're a BBQ enthusiast, a professional chef, or just hosting a gathering, this charcoal is a must-have. It's efficient, easy to use, and delivers fantastic results every time. Highly recommend for anyone serious about their grilling!

Excellent charcoal
Excellent charcoal, proper charcoal just how it should be. It does burn slightly quicker but that’s because it’s true charcoal.

Lights easily. Burns steadily. Low smoke levels. Creates too much ash.
Used in a Weber MasterTouch and a Kettle Joe. It lights easily - I use one or two of the Ecoblaze Natural Firelighters to get it going. It burns steadily - not the slowest not the fastest. It doesn't create much smoke (if your bbq is clean) It creates a more ash than any other charcoal I have used which is a pain in a kettle if you've got food you need to turn quite frequently. Lumps are of a good size, although I haven't got to the bottom of the sack yet; who knows what's waiting for me down there... Made in Latvia - when I bought this I go the impression it was made in the UK but looking back it doesn't say anything like this in the description so I think I got the impression from the packaging.

Best for open cooking or high heat covered covered cooking. Low and slow? try something else...
Excellent charcoal, ready in no time at all and no spitting or smoke. It's definitely best suited to open cooking where the coals can be shuffled, but can be used for high heat lid on cooking. It does produce a lot of ash, so low and slow aren't really suited to this. The ash produced creates an insulative layer on the coal and without disturbance it effectively smothers the coal and it stops burning. This coal is ideal for adding to a cooling bbq without spoiling the food flavour. My go to coal!

Good quality lumpwood charcoal
This is great stuff at an inexpensive price. This is proper hardwood charcoal, not those shaped, briquettes but in that regard pieces can vary greatly in size so dont expect to be able to use the snake method. This stuff burns very hot for a reasonable time. It's mostly smokeless and quite honestly you could use it to forge metal with a powered air supply. It's a little dearer than briquettes but I think its worth the extra to get a restaurant pro quality product.

Not ‘Restaurant’ grade
Incredibly light charcoal, easy to light and burns hot but way too quickly, defo not restaurant grade. Also had a huge amount of small pieces to dust left over possibly around 2-3kg which is circa 25% of the bags volume.

Finest charcoal I have ever used
This is really expensive charcoal, but well worth the money. Although I bought two bags, I have so far only opened one, so take that as a caution. The chunks were mostly quite large and very light, with very little dust, and the bag was full almost till the top. A few things made this charcoal stand out. First of all, the smell. There was very little of it, which was quite a surprise. There was almost no smoke either. It lit very easily (I used one tealight candle) and burned with very little flame. The heat spread quite quickly and I had a nice barbie up and running in about twenty minutes. The charcoal burned at high heat long enough to cook a lot of food, but I did use just over half a bag. The charcoal was still burning a few hours later although most of it had turned to a very fine ash which had largely blown away, so it left very little residue. All in all, I would definitely buy some more of this when I want a rip-roaring barbie, even though it's quite pricey. All their usage claims (which I confess to have found a little improbable when purchasing) are in fact quite true, so well done them.

Waste of money
Very disappointing coal Failed to reach any decent temperature even lid on cooking and once lifting the lid fine ash rose cover the food on the grill Struggled to 200 c and fell very quickly after that ,coal didn't even burn out several pieces left in the bottom . AVOID !!

Klare Kaufempfehlung!!!
