Bulk Food Pails

My container, from Lot dated Sept 2022 (acquired 10/22), is very securely sealed. So much so, that I don't want to open it. I bought it to have if/when I need it. I have plenty of rice that I will use up first. I bought this specifically knowing that it should still be good 7 years from now. Brown rice does not have as long as of a shelf life due to its natural oils and such, so I simply don't add it to my long-term pantry supplies. But when I saw an emergency packed container at a reasonable price, I more or less made an impulse purchase. It was similar price or less than other regular stuff I'd buy off the shelf, and I don't need to pack it special for long term storage. This is done for me.Since I did not open it, I cannot say if there are any bugs. I prefer not to have them, but in reality, I really don't care. There are always (always, always) bug eggs in grains, flours, and pasta (etc). Always. Sorry to say. Freezing will kill the eggs to keep them from hatching into bugs, but don't ever think that you don't eat bugs. Ya do. So, if there ends up being bugs, I will likely just pick them out. Or not. If this is opened when all else has dwindled away, the bugs will provide added protein. I'm not kidding. So, consider it a bonus feature?Good luck all. Buy what you can while you still can.

I eat a lot of rice daily and this is the best.

I opened the box to find the lid was not sealed. Rice had spilled over into the box. No type of seal on container. Not even cellophane seal. I hope the next one is properly sealed. Product not cheap so to have some spilled is a waste of my hard earned money. Lid doesn't even lock in place. Is this a defective container or is this the norm?

I love me some brown rice. I season it with meat gravy or smoked turkey water brought I stopped eating white rice.

I had ordered the bucket once before and it arrived opened with the rice in the box. Replacement was sent immediately, which also arrived opened. Money was refunded. I waited for it to go back on sale, ordered again, and this one arrived perfectly. I have two Rottweilers that brown rice is a key part of their diets I cook for them. So I will always want to have at least one pail as a backup and working out of another. I haven’t opened this one yet, it will sit for emergency storage until I work through the current grocery store stock I have. But I’m excited to not only have these for emergency use, but also every day use since we go through so much!

This is good rice in a good reusable container that lasts a very long time. However, the company seems to have trouble with sealing the container. It's supposed to be emergency food storage, but the last two containers that I've bought have had broken seals. That's a major flaw, either in design or in the packaging process. Luckily, I buy these to eat right from the get-go, not to store. I'm just glad the rice isn't moldy and loaded with bugs when it arrives. Those who buy for storage should take note.

Excellent Purchase for the price. Great stacking buckets for long term survival storage.
