Very nice tight compression throughout the leg
These are the only leggings I work out in. For the gym, for a run, or to play tennis, anything I do with mild to high impact on my legs and knees, I am wearing these. Gives me much needed knee support, shock absorption and stability while active. Very nice tight compression throughout the leg, supporting my joints. High waisted giving good core support. Little mesh pocket at the waist for my chapstick. Strong material smooths out hips and most of the lumps and bumps for a smooth, curvy silhouette. Theyre costly but a worthy investment to protect from the wear and tear of vigorous activity. I have several because I work out often and work up a sweat but cant do laundry everday so its good to have several to keep in rotation while the sweaty ones are waiting to be washed. They can get expensive but often the prices fluctuate on amazon so you can get good deals. Important to pay attention to the laundering tag. DO NOT use fabric softner on these and do not put them in the dryer. My first couple pair were getting little wholes in them that would eventually grow and turn into big rips. I was getting so upset that something so expensive was deteriorating so quickly, then I realized my laundry lady was washing them with fabric softners and machine drying them. Now I run them through the washer myself with lots of soap on either cold or warm water cycles and then just hang to let them air dry, and these last much longer. No wholes, fabric stays strong and in tact. Some of the tights that I have worn for years start to wear out in the inner thigh area close to the groin because of my shape and also when im stretching that area takes the most strain, but I just get them patched back up with additional black lycra fabric and theyre good as new. Many people complain about the sizing but these are compression leggings so they are strong and tight the way they are supposed to be, to hold everything up and together. If you are looking for something loose or super stretchy like yoga pants, these are not for you. These are for strong and serious support, for long term impact and protection, like for people running miles, etc. At first they were hard to put on but after a few washes and wear they get a bit more stretchy and I am so used to putting these on everyday I dont notice the resistance anymore and they feel so great once theyre on. I love how they make me look smaller and smooth out the curves and feel so well supported. The cw-x "stabilyx" are a very worthy investment for anyone truly needing good support in their activewear. These are only bested by their cw-x "endurance generator" tights which are the highest level of supportive tights this brand offers (and my favorite of the 2)

The XL fits me like compression tights should
CW-X Women's Stabilyx Running Tights, Black, X-Large I normally wear 14-16 pants. My measurements at time of purchase 40" waist, 31" inseam. I have large calves (18") and thighs (25"). These hit me just above the belly button. The XL fits me like compression tights should, true support, very tight and a bit of a workout to put on. I don't have problems with them being see through anywhere. Had hubby check when I bent over too. Some people wear underwear with compression tights, others, like me, do not. I hate panty lines and can't imagine any brand that would not show lines in these. I sit down on the edge of my bed to work them up to the knee on both legs, then stand to work them over the knee for correct placement, then up the thighs. As other's have said, a bit like putting on pantyhose but substantially more difficult. I love the drawstring as my waist is currently a couple inches larger than my hips and these stay up great overall. I like the way they feel and could wear them all the time, but I don't so they will last longer as the are expensive. They do constrict my running some, as I am a beginner. The upside is I don't have near as much soreness and aching after my run. They are a bit warm if you're running in direct sunlight but fine if you run late evening. I can already tell they will be great for running in "normal" fall/winter temps here in Oklahoma. I personally wouldn't wear them in temps above 75, I think they would be too warm......that could because I'm fat. (I'm determined to lose weight and get healthy so cheer me on!!!) I have washed them twice on the hand wash cycle in my frontloading washer and hang them to dry without any issues so far. Yes, I would buy them again.

Worth every penny!
I am 5'2",and curvy and athletic build. Waist 27, hips 37, upper thigh 23.5. Whereas I was once 120lbs, I am now 140. Needless to say adusting from a size 4 to a size 6 is a little complicated. I purchased the medium in the full length cwx and a small in the 3/4 length. The medium is a little lose around the knee and the small fit snug...really snug. In fact wearing the size small in cross fit class I was unable to do the toes to bar movement that I typically have no problem with. However, the tights were great for the rest of the workout which involved deadlifts and squats. the added support made my heavy lifts feel more supported thanks to the intended exoskeleton effects of the tights's construction. I am hoping the tights losen up a bit with wear but that likely will not happen because the material is really beefy. You need not worry about wearing these tights out anytime soon. Aside from the performance aspects the tights easily made me look a full size smaller so that's a much appreciated bonus.I will use the full length tights for workouts and recovery and just to hang out in as they are not as tight and are therefore more comfortable. I will not be wearing these tights in temperatures higher than 70 degrees- they are too warm. The tights would be great down into the 20s for me, so I will use the full length tights as primarily three season tights. Buy these tights- you will not be disappointed. I will likely buy a third pair ( the lighter more ventilated version) for warmer temps.

Fit, feeling, and comparison to the Men's tights
I ordered the Men's large first, because in my experience men's products as an athlete fit me better. The men's large is TOO BIG! Men's medium or Women's large fit just right! I'm a little taller than 5'8", weigh about 180lbs so I'm built, decently...not a body builder or really into fitness- I have "fluff" or what some may refer to as a "spare tire" around my waste. I do workout regularly and the purpose of these pants was to wear under my refereeing uniform. The sizes are very, very accurate and fit well. The waste band sits comfortably, and can be tied tighter if need be. It does not hurt or squish my rolls in a way that makes me feel subconscious. The dynamic of the pants is it does have a component on the hip, stronger than regular compression pants, that maintain pressure and help reduce strain as I run. I can feel a different once I'm done because my hip flexors are always tight and I'm constantly stretching them to help with hamstrings and other things with my legs that follow. To continue down the leg the band's run along the outer and inner thighs, helping relieve stress with the IT band. The cross action occurs twice around the knees, giving them support with every step helping brace for impact. This is the only place where I have a problem is keeping the middle section centered around my patella (falls down). Weirdly enough is it's just that and no other portion or function of the tights; just the part that crosses below the knees.the band's then continue thru the length of the tights helping with shin splints. The holes at the ankles seem tight when trying to put your foot thru it (size 10.5 women's) but find that the hole fits nicely around the ankle. The pictures attached show the difference in knee width so you can see the varying support of the band of men's compared to women's. The women's tight is just a little more narrow (one of the left, man's is the one on the right-wing for both pictures). It's about 0.5" less in diameter. I'm not sure why this is, but I can say from using both and coming from someone who frequently buys men's apparel to work out in that the lay out of the woman's pant helped support more than the man's.

Best leggings ever!
These leggings absolutely saved the day for me. After yet another injury to my knees I was looking for some kind of brace but instead found these. They could not have been better. They held at the right places, enabled me to walk more comfortably, and got me through a very painful incident. They have a lot of compression (but that is what you want!) I think they look good and have held up for years! I highly recommend them to anyone with knee injuries! My only wish would be that they had some sort of pocket for my phone

Very uncomfortable
Very hard to put on and off, correct size for compression but very comfortable. I didnโt try until after the return date so itโs too late but expensive and probably wonโt wear, sending to donation

Farthest Run to Date was with my new pair of CW-X Stabilyx Tights
I have numerous medical issues : vertigo, 3 degenerative disks ( upper/mid/lower back), chronic bronchitis ( nonsmoker) 4th time having lung issues requiring inhaler to simply breath, heat stroke so I have difficulty regulating temps and sweat more than norm, and I utilize chiropractors roughly every few months for back, shoulder, neck, and calf tightness issues. Just started running this year as weather in NEPA has been brutal~ I've run 7 times since January 2018 with average pace of 9'16"pace with 41.34 total kilometers this after having bronchitis 4times. Today with the CWX I ran my longest distance of 8.12km ( 5.046miles) with 8'35"/Km and a time of 1:09:43. I also smashed my own records with the faster 1k of 7:13, fastest 1 mile with 12:22 , and hit a personal best of 42:28 in the 5k all while wearing these tights. I'm roughly 5ft9in weighing 188lbs ( Main workout: Crossfit)so I'm well built and muscular. The support in the midsection, back, knees, legs was superb and I was surprised how little moisture was around my stomach and how easy they came off. I stayed dry and comfortable with these for the entire run in 40 temps with high wind. I didn't feel the wind , nor the cold weather not once on my legs and the fit was perfect for me without riding up at the hems nor bunching up in crouch area. Extremely comfortable to wear, no rubbing (inner thigh) engages the hamstring/calf area nicely while supporting quadriceps, very little muscle soreness, the belly flap stayed put & never fell over and I welcomed the string to keep in place. Lightweight yet breathable, and the joint support offered was amazing. I'm glad to get these at a sensible price much lower than retail price and my shipper was excellent. I'm not your average runner and in fact haven't ran competitively long-mid distance/cross country since high school over 25 yrs ago. With these I may just reconsider. I'm a momx3 teens who doesn't get much spare time but I appreciate good quality made material and the coolmax, lycra feature with stabilyx is exactly what I needed in my late 40's.

Support
In my case they are not supporting knees as much as I'd like but they support tights and abdomen very well which is also very cool.

Above average
The compression is above average..... the length is little long for petite size (5 ft 2 inches )

Good compression
I own a couple of pairs of cw-x so quality is no surprise. I was disappointed that I didnโt get the one with the silver trimming as shown in the picture (just plain black) but I was too lazy to send it back and change :(
