Our German Shepherd loves this food ... and it loves him! We adopted our big puppy from the local shelter at 9 months age and 68 pounds. He had frequent runny stools and gas which I initially attributed to stress (which there certainly was some for him with all these adjustments) but his digestive symptoms persisted after he seemed otherwise settled. He also had symptoms of skin itching though we were sure he did not have fleas. He was on the regular Wellness large breed puppy food initially, and we switched to a 'sensitive stomach' puppy food of another brand, which was plenty expensive but contained an awful lot of ingredients for limited ingredient diet: chicken, fish, and egg product, plus rice, brewers rice, and barley (no wheat or corn). After further investigative work on the topic of food sensitivities I changed back to Wellness to this wonderful stuff, a grain free true LID with a single meat source (Turkey). Problem solved! He has not had a single loose stool since starting this diet, has no more gas, and has completely stopped scratching. And he loves it to boot (probably in part simply because he feels well enough to eat). This is not marketed as a puppy food but is similarly rich with regard to protein content. My puppy is almost a year old now so his need for 'puppy' formula food is probably debatable, but his need for food he can tolerate and feel good on is not debatable. I highly recommend this food for anyone wanting to pare down or isolate ingredients for digestive symptoms. I wish I had gone straight to it. We now avoid all treats that contain grain and treat our boy with bites of cooked sweet potato instead, which he is crazy about. It is such a relief to find the right food. His energy level is noticeably better and coat is already starting to become softer and shinier. We don't know much about our sweet guy's life during his pre-shelter time but it seems likely good nutrition was not part of it. I am happy he can finally enjoy that now, because he so deserves it :)

Great dog food. This is the only dog food that hasn't seemed to make our dog sick. Be warry and talk to your vet since it is grain free that can cause some issues in dogs. We tried other flavors of the same food and the same that isn't limited ingredient and neither worked for our dog. We appreciate the subscribe and save that this can be delivered directly to our door each month. Would recommend if this meets your pet's dietary requirements.

I started experimenting with the high-end foods a while back, but my 70 lb. Standard Poodle-- and the breed is notorious for their digestion issues -- has always had problems surpassing even what one would expect of a breed whose entire intestinal tract is smushed into a narrow chest cavity about 4 mm wide. I have long had to resort to cooking my handsome, lithe and limber canine homemade meals that surpassed my own in quality. I have purchased organic farmer's market produce for him when I couldn't afford to buy it for myself. I have boiled chicken, rice... I have gone grain free. I have bought him wild salmon and sweet potatoes. I bought a Ninja and made him doggie pate de foie gras. I have walked uphill both ways. But alas. He still tooted around like a sulfur factory, bloated and gassy, startling himself with his own propulsive bursts of methane. The scent wafted over and around him like Pigpen's Dust Cloud. He pooped melted soft-serve cow patties all over the back yard. I Doggie-Desitined his butt. No one would come to visit. I was in the depths of despair. It was. A Disaster. And then I discovered Wellness. It wasn't perfect--but it was pretty awesome-- I'd say an 75% improvement. BUT, the whitefish was STINKY. And whoa. Did he ever have the breath of whitefish... that had been rotting in the sun for several days. But that stinky waftiness cloud had almost completely dissipated! And then... I discovered WELLNESS SIMPLE. I swear he hasn't tooted once since I started buying the Simple version. And he loves it. All of the flavors. (I avoid the salmon because I have preemptive flashbacks of what is now known as The Whitefish Revulsion of '13.) And thusly: Hallelujah! We have reached bloat-free, gas-free, Poodle Promised Land! It has been months and months of happiness, glitter, sparkles, and rainbows. And no stinkiness -- from either end! Friends and family are visiting again! Life is sweet. THANKS, WELLNESS SIMPLE! (PS. I do not use Desitin on my dog. It's a doggie version. Zinc Oxide is bad for dogs.)

I used to give this to my dog before I started cooking his food. It's a great food nutritionally, as all Wellness food are, but this one is just what it says...'simple'. I think my dog was unimpressed altho he did eat it without any issues...just didn't love it. And it's super hard compared to Wellness Core which he was eating before so it looked like he was really crunching it. Still, a good food for dogs who need a limited ingredient food.

Our Goldendoodle started having runny poop problems around 16 weeks of age after being on 4Health puppy food since she was weaned. It was a bit perplexing as to why all of a sudden she had problems so we took her to the vet because she was also vomiting. The vet put her on an antibiotic with an anti-inflammatory agent. That cleared the problems up while she was on it. So the next step was a bunch of tests and an enormous amount of money paid to the vet OR feeding her Dr. Hills I/D Gastrointestinal Health food to see if that helped and it did!! But it's also super expensive. We tried weaning her onto 4Health Beef and Potato but we still had poop issues once we mixed less than 1/2 of the Dr. Hills food into it. I called the vet to ask what other food might work, that's also less expensive. The vet tech wanted me to bring our puppy in for more tests but I knew it was the food, not worms or any other lab test-proven issue. Since the vet "couldn't" suggest any other food, I did more research on my own and decided to try Wellness Puppy Deboned Chicken and Rice food. The poop got better but we still had issues of soft poop so I decided to go with the Wellness Simple Turkey and Potato formula and this one did the trick!!! NO MORE POOP PROBLEMS! My dog might be a bit of a diva because she likes it better when I add warm water to the food. She seems very healthy and happy so I'm pretty happy I found this food.

I purchased the Turkey and Potato for my dachshund who out of nowhere got allergies from the Nutro brand he was eating. I was told I needed to stay on the "prescribed" dog food the vet sold to manage his allergies. However, I decided to do some searching for a different, better ingredient food and stumbled upon this brand. It's been a few months since the switch and I love it! 1. My dog seems to love it. I've now switched my other dachshund to this food and may end up switching our lab/pit to this as well. 2. Both dog's bowel movements look healthier than ever before, and are very consistent. 3. The dog's coats are shiny and very soft. Overall, I'm happy I made the switch and my dachshund's seem very happy as well.

This food is great , Our dog doesn't have allergies,my wife wants him to eat quality food, there are others out there that are just as good .. But our dog likes this one. It helps his digestion( no pooping 5 times a day ). The price on here is fantastic,almost $10 cheaper than in store, and I don't have to go get it. Rural living means to go get this would take 3hrs round trip. I recommend getting the Dash button, it costs $5 which they discount your first order by when you use it ...So it's technically free .. Hope for awesomeness but it did not deliver. I would have to put chicken broth to get my dogs to eat. One has been vomiting. Need to switch but I don't recommend this particular food. Good luck hunting for that perfect dog food.
