I’ve been using this linseed oil to coat my finished whittling projects, and I’m really happy with the results! used this for garden furniture/ornaments. East to apply, suggest standing items in a large tray, i have a car drip tray to catch excess. Even very porous wood responds well and easy enough to get a coat on. Nice lustre to the wood, bought out the grain and detail plus protects. Got a second bottle to do more. As for how far it will go/coverage tray help catch and recycle drips/runoff and also how porous your items are. Mine very pieous but it still covered well. Wash out brushes in soapy water. Reccomend.

The oil itself is great stuff and worked a treat on my project, however on getting the bottle for its 2nd use the child proof lid had stopped working and would not open any more. I managed to get it off to find part of the cap completely stuck to the neck of the bottle and the lock part sheared off and fell in bits. J now how about 95% of the bottle with no lid for it 😫

Vikings used it to waterproof their shields and ships. I’m using it on my shield. Good stuff, and I’ve been giving the wood extra coats as it’s leaves a gloss finish, rather than one coat for just waterproofing. Slight orange colour on pine, which is what I wanted as it’s the way a Viking shield should look, before painting any patterns etc

Used to oil a solid wood table. Very pleased with the result. There is a slight smell when using but not too bad. Smell went after a day or so. Used a cloth instead of a brush to apply. Be aware there is a risk of the used cloth to spontaneously combust after use so rinse it thoroughly with soapy water before disposal. The warning is in the small print on the bottle label. Price was very low compared to other products. I still have 3/4 of the bottle left after 2 applications. I would buy this again if I needed to

Looking ok. Read up on spraying & all the advice was NO. Fire risk & over spray risk too high. I'm applying with a brush, old one to start with, started soaking to top of garden gate, first was diluted with spirits, then with concentrated BLO. In 1 way wish it was thicker, Drips off the brush, LOL From what I read: It is not a problem with Cement or concrete. Asphalt or tarred drive can be a problem. Varnish over BLO, in a few days, plain Linseed oil few weeks (Far cheaper but drying time) , in Scotland weather?? Will be back with further updates.
