Wild Planet Wild White Anchovies in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Tinned Fish, 4.4 Ounce, Pack of 12

These are very good. These are not made to be like anchovies you'd eat on pizza. They're still salty, but they have more of a canned tuna fish flavor. I, personally, don't think they taste anything like sardines, either, but they look more like sardines.

These fish are clean, guts seem to be removed. Flavor is relatively mild for what it is (canned small sea fish) and it's packed with nutrition. Not overly salty. Basically mild sardines but smaller and very clean without scales or guts. The texture is good and the olive oil seems to be of high quality. Very much like these!

These are really poor quality white anchovies. They taste fine but it’s not like a true, high end, soft and oily white fish. They’re more grey brown and fall apart. Nothing like the real thing. Absolutely do not waste your money.

I wish people would read the description and reviews before buying these delightful fish. They are delicate, excellent source of calcium, (which is so very important for the elderly who are lactose intolerant) and incredibly versatile. Those anchovies can be air fried and eaten as munchies, mixed within an egg salad, obliterated with herbs and spices as a condiment or salad dressing... Limited only by your imagination! The more you experiment with them - the more you'll like them! Enjoy!

These are NOT the anchovies I'm used to, possibly I should have known that. I was looking for anchovy fillets, the small, dark, salty pieces of fish for pizza, caesar salads, that kind of thing. These are more like small, good quality sardines. I'm giving this 4 stars, because for what they are, I think they're pretty decent. But they are not what I was intending to order, they are not what I think of as "anchovies." But they are exactly what they listed as. I write this review only to prevent other people like myself for mistakenly purchasing this item when they intend to purchase something else.

Pleasantly surprised with these. Very tasty and contain nice pieces of anchovies. They are different than sardines. They are not shredded scraps. I was nervous because they are not boneless, but I ate the whole can and didn’t even notice any bones; They are so thin, you can’t even feel it. I should have bought more when the price was right.

These might be anchovies but they are not the anchovies you're expecting and loving. They're not filets, they're much bigger, they're not salted or tasting the same and don't have the firm texture. They're not the stuff you put on pizzas or make Caesar salad dressing from. They're basically smaller sardines. I'm so disappointied after spending the money for anchovies to get what amounts to sardines. I like Wild Planet sardines and tuna very much. What a shock to get these.
