Double Down (The Men of the Sisterhood Book 1)

Why both 5 stars and 1 star.......Good stuff first. Like the vast majority of Fern Michaels books this was a enjoyable read with characters I have come to care about. The plot followed along with those of the Sisterhood series both things that have m e automatically buying the next installment.Why 1 star.....I will admit that I am at fault for becoming so confident in this writer that I didn't even research anything about this book. Therefore imagine my surprise when I began reading and had a sense of deja vu thinking I had once again bought a book I had already read. This, however was even more frustrating. It was not a book I had read but a collection of 3 stories that have each been released before.One of my pet peeves is when a book is re-released under a new title or with a new cover. This was more clever than that as it was in a totally different from. I admit that had I not just taken it at face value and had read the description I would not have found myself reading something I had already read.....so for that I accept responsibility. I have, unfortunately learned a time and money wasting lesson and will never again automatically buy what seems to be a new Fern Michaels book. I will wait until I can visit a store and check it out for myself and then buy the Kindle edition.If you have not read these three novellas/long short stories buy it with confidence that it is classic Michaels.......if, like me, you have read everything she has ever written then pass on this as recycled tales

I knew ahead of time that these were the same three combined into one mp3 but it isn't in order for some reason, so be sure that you read in order to get the full story the way it is supposed to be :) Upside Down, Countdown then Take down. Folks it did clearly state that this was the first three novellas combined into one, stop being angry that you didn't read the description fully and taking it out on the author! Having said that, I don't think Fern Michaels should keep up with these "half stories" that need all of us to purchase three to get one full story! It takes away from the possible great storyline...she should have known this by how we loved the Sisterhood series so much and eagerly asked and anticipated for the next in the series...getting pieces of one complete story is def not something I enjoy.

This book is miss leading. I thought it was a new story. It's not. It's a combination of the first 3 books written on the men of sisterhood. The title implies it is a whole new story. I liked the 3 stories, but was ready for something new. This is why it is getting a 3 star rating. Shame!!!

I made the mistake of preordering this before there was any story information given. I loved the Men of the Sisterhood and if there was a "new" one in the pipeline I was confident I would enjoy it as well. This morning I opened my kindle and was happy to see this long awaited next installment in the series was downloading. I opened it and there in the book information ALL THREE NOVELLAS IN ONE BOOK! Really? I spent money for what I already had. I WILL NEVER trust a preorder again. It isn't likely the publisher will run out like in the old days of brick and mortar book stores. Shaking My Head

I hate it when an Author reissues one of their books, or in this case 3 books and does not tell their readers it is a republish under a different name. They get us to buy their book twice. To me that is not fair. I also just pre-ordered the book. I really enjoy this series. I want any new book that comes out about the series. It is the Author, Publisher & Amazon stealing from all of us. We already paid once for the book. I don't want to pay a 2nd time. When I pre-ordered there was no mention of a reissue/republish. This sucks. Don't bother buying, its a waste of your money, its a ripoff...

I honestly didn’t think the men would make it. They were all too nice. And then… Well, thank goodness for Maggie!Now to get serious: If you have read the Sisterhood Series, you already know these men – and their women. If you haven’tread any of the Sisterhood Series, I recommend that you do so before you read the Men of the Sisterhood. It make thetransition much easier. I enjoyed the book and I plan to continue reading the series to find out what happened to Charles andwhen the two groups are going to completely merge – if ever.

The stories rate a 4-5 star. But the Amazon book description did NOT indicate that this is the compilation.I did a pre-order and was waiting with bated breath for the release. What a diappointment when it appeared on my Kindle and I opened it up to begin the new adventure, only to find out when reading the "Dear Readers" page from Ms Michaels that there were no new stories. (Not to mention that I have now paid twocw for the same stories!) Not sure why I even paged back to the author letter that is behind the table of contents, but was glad I did so that I didn't start reading to then discover things were looking awfully familiar. :-(

The main characters are well known from the sisterhood series. While the sisters have slowed down on their creative solutions to right terrible wrongs done to good people. The men have formed a group to do what the sisters have been doing.Their first case is to help people who've lost love ones due to a pharmaceutical company released before they knew it was safe. This also helped some of their own loved ones whose overly demanding jobs taking on class action lawsuits to help some of the same people.Definitely recommending that you read this book, as I read the second.

This is very disappointing as it has arrives on my Kindle as UPSIDE DOWN not Double Down. I read this book some time ago in book form. Just a waste of money !! If you have freed the first 3 books in this series ...DO NOT NUY THIS !!!

Was looking forward to the next instalment to this series . Really really disappointed to have paid for this book only to find that I have already read the stories under different names so paid twice ! Was not made clear that this is the case !

As usual loved it. The usual tears, suspense and laughter. Would and have recommended Fern Michaels books to anyone who enjoys a good read. The only tiny dislike maybe would be that sometimes they are to similar. But to love one you love them all. She is a wonderful writer. I chose this rating because I so enjoy her books.

This first episode of the Men of the Sisterhood measures up to everything you have come to expect from the author and the Sisterhood Series.

I love the idea that the men are getting their own cases to solve. One of the reasons I had to buy a kindle as I understood these books were only available electronicly.
