The worlds perfect water bottle
I almost had a panic attack when I thought they stopped making these. I love my water bottle. It has a sturdy place to attach a carabiner on top, and I love the fact that the bottom comes open for extra thorough cleanings. Strong enough to put up with all of my abuse as I drag it from work site to festival to campground. Most importantly the design of the drinking spout is easy to clean, unlike some other previous bottles I've had that collected grime in all of the nooks and crannies. This one is easy to get to all the spots and doesn't have an annoying straw, or sippy cup mouthpiece like other brands. . The mouthpiece is wide enough that you can chug a lot of water at a go, the top unscrews so you can add ice cubes if you want to, it stays insulated forever. The metal is thick enough that even if you drop it 100,000 times it retains its shape and doesn't dent, and the black coating has barely chipped even after years of use. The rubber band that makes it pop open broke on mine after years of aforementioned abuse, but was easily replaced with a rubber band. I have mine covered in stickers and will probably buy a couple more as backups because I will be truly devastated if this company ever goes out of business.

Our favorite cup
We really like our Zulu water cups. The bottom removes for easy filling from the fridge door dispensers and also for a good, thorough cleaning. Carrying them is easy. Just slip the built-in lid loop over a finger and we're good to go. The rubber bands break, but that's more of a convenience, and doesn't make the cup unusable. It's a great sturdy cup that lasts and looks quite nice.

Beware of unscrewing the bottom cap
Edit 2023-06-05 I *have* to comment on the insulating capabilities of this bottle (and raise my 4-star rating to 5-stars). I usually don't use ice because I'm not a big ice person. But yesterday was 90°F and very humid. We were outdoors setting up for, and attending, a grad party. So I filled the bottle with as much ice as I could fit & then topped off with tap water. It's around 22-23 hours later AND THERE'S STILL ICE in my bottle. I've refilled the water at least 5 times since the original ice fill. This bottle is crazy good at keeping ice going. I kept running out of water to drink because the ice was just not melting. Also everyone who saw me add ice was fascinated that the bottom unscrewed for ice filling and cleaning. They all said that was an awesome feature, and several wanted to know where I got the bottle. Original review: I am what I call a "unconscious drinker" meaning I habitually grab for whatever drink is on my desk whenever I switch doing something. If I just wrote some code, and hit run, absentmindedly grab a bottle and drink. Fire off and email? Yep a drink without thinking about it. This wouldn't be a problem except those drinks tended to be bottles of soft drinks. One day I received a plastic 750ml bottle from work that I loved. It was the perfect size for me, and fit under the water filter at work. Most importantly it didn't have a straw or tiny sports bottle pull up spout. The opening was a flip-top with a wide spout that I could get a good chug from. I went from drinking soda all day to crushing my water intake each day. But plastic doesn't last long. Especially when dropped a few too many times on the pavement. So I searched for another 750ml bottle I could love, and found this Zulu bottle. Overall I am happy with it, but there are some trade offs over my beloved company-branded-free-swag-bottle. Pros: 750ml is a happy place for me on volume. Keeps me from having to refill as often, but isn't so big that it's heavy to carry around. The uniform diameter fits in my vehicle's cupholder (old bottle did not). The push button flip top has a soft silicone spout the I can get good gulps of water. The outer coating is slightly textured making it a bit easier to hold while drinking. It keeps my water frosty cold until I have to refill. The stainless steel interior means no worry about plastic leeching stuff into my water. Trade-offs (Not Cons, just things different from my trusty old bottle) Since I drink absentmindedly I often pick up the bottle to find it's empty. I got used to seeing the level in my clear plastic bottle. This meant it was easier to monitor consumed amounts and refill needed at a glance. This bottle cannot be see through so I often find it empty at inopportune times. The height is too tall for the filtered water dispenser at work. Wouldn't be an issue except I'm 6'3" and I have to stoop over & hold the bottle to fill it instead of just sitting it on the shelf and holding the button. Very minor, and only affects me. Cons: I loved the concept of the removable bottom for cleaning or adding larger ice chunks. It makes rinsing out the inside a breeze. But the cap's thread is plastic and the bottle's thread is steel. This makes cross threading fairly easy. And the o-ring seal is small. So I had issues with a leak for a while until I removed, and replaced, the bottom cap. I can see the possibility of overtightening the cap as well which would deform it, and could cause a leak. The flip-top's button is very small in height. This makes it hard to activate if you don't grip just right. For those of us with bigger hands that's a problem. Also the flip top is a hard plastic. This will eventually get broken I'm sure. I'm sure this is to keep production costs down over having milled/cast metal tops (or it could be a planned obsolescence thing who knows). Hopefully replacement caps are available down the line. Overall the cons aren't nearly enough for me to shy away from highly recommending the bottle.

Great bottle and the removable bottom makes it a gamechanger for cleaning
This is a solidly built water bottle and the removable bottom is great as it makes cleaning so much easier. It didn't leak at all from the bottom when I used it for long periods of time. It fits most carriers and has a nice solid, metal feel to it. There was no weird smell that you sometimes get with these types of bottles and the locking lid and hook at the top are nice if you want to clamp it with a carbiner rather than have a holder for it. It comes in several colors including a few dual color versions and looks nice. Its a little pricier than some other bottles but worth it in my opinion

Freaking YUGE, will not fit car cup holders
Loved the features of this water bottle, with a few caveats. First of all, it's freaking huge. That's on me for probably not paying closer attention to the description, but the base is 3" in diameter, which is about 0.5"-1" bigger than my other water bottles. It unfortunately won't fit into any of my cup holders, and as I bought this primarily for using in the car, that's no bueno. The 2nd caveat I see as a design flaw: the base that unscrews is 100% plastic. The main body of the bottle is double sided aluminum, and having a plastic screw in portion of the base going into the aluminum body will cause problems long term with cross threading, wear, leakage, etc. It might be remedied with a little plumber's tape, but why would you have plastic piece screwing into a metal piece? Other than that, the bottle is well built, seems super easy to clean, the silicone nozzle is genius, and locking fixture is great. If there were a smaller version (say 20oz??) that would fit into most car cup holders that had an aluminum bottom, I would give 5 starts and buy 20 of them.

King and Queen of Water Bottles 👑
Appreciation post! I waited almost one year before posting. I have a 11 year old who has gone through multiple water bottles. Some get lost, some broken, and some just look worse for wear so we get rid of them. I bought the Zulu on a whim. I’d never heard of them before. It ticked all the boxes. No straw (which is a big plus for us), wide bottom that can unscrew for ease of cleaning and for adding ice, few parts to clean, stainless steel, and good color selection. We’ve never had a water bottle like this before. My kid has been using it all year and it’s held up like a champ! Minor dings from dropping it but the color is in tact (no chipping paint). The mouth piece is a nice soft yet durable silicone. It’s pops in and out easily which is a dream for everyday cleaning. The bottom screws on and off which again, is a dream for everyday cleaning. There is a lock that keeps the top closed and I’m impressed that it’s still intact and working. It’s sturdy and stable and keeps the water cold (or cold enough) - the best water bottle ever! I never put it in the dishwasher. I hand wash it and air dry it every day so it stays nice and fresh. I’ve seen other kids water bottles when they get moldy or that pink slime and it’s disgusting! I highly, highly recommend this water bottle for all the moms and other people out there who have had it with crappy, expensive water bottles that don’t last.

Perfect Bottle for Cold Drinks On-the-Go
The ZULU Ace Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle is a game-changer for staying hydrated throughout the day. I love the chug spout—it's easy to drink from during workouts or while commuting. The leak-proof locking lid gives me peace of mind when tossing it into my bag. What really sets this bottle apart is the removable base. It makes it super easy to add large ice cubes, and they actually stay frozen for hours, keeping my water icy cold. It’s also handy for deep cleaning the bottle. Whether I'm using it at the gym, during travel, or just on a regular school day, this bottle never lets me down. Durable, stylish, and practical—it checks all the boxes. Highly recommend for anyone who needs cold drinks that last!

Not sure if it’s just mine but it leaks
This water bottle is incredible! It has everything I need - a big capacity, keeps drinks cold, easy to clean, durable, and won’t leak. I recently got a kidney transplant, and my doctors want me to drink a ton of water. The good news is I take a lot of medicine, which makes my mouth super dry. I’m also very immunocompromised because of my anti-rejection meds, so I can’t be around too many germs. I need a water bottle that can hold a decent amount of water, keep it cold for a while, be easy to clean, and not leak. I thought I found that with Zulu. I’m not sure if it was just my bottle that had an issue, but when I fill the water bottle (after making sure the bottom is screwed on tight), it works great for a while, but then it starts leaking from the bottom seam. I have two other Zulu Ace bottles (teal and black). I got them last summer at Target, and those two are fantastic! They don’t leak, drinks stay cold for a really long time, and if I lock the lid, I can keep it with me in bed. If you clean it PROPERLY (unscrew the top and bottom, take out the rubber pieces), it doesn’t generally smell. The water bottle looks good and is the same color as the one in the picture. Considering that it leaks (which might just be mine), I probably wouldn’t pay $17 for it again when I can get one at a store and have it right away. It’s durable, I’ve dropped all 3 on the floor a few times and they haven’t dented so far. They don’t fit in the back cup holder of a Hyundai Tucson, but they do fit in the front. They’re lightweight and can fit in an average-sized purse. Note: I put purple Gatorade Zero powder in my water, so that’s why it’s purple.

Silicon mouth piece disintegrates after just 7 months.
This is my 2nd Zulu ace bottle. First lasted 1+ year. Mouth piece became rough and brownish. Like the rubber deteriorated. This is my 2nd one. Worse! Silicon mouth piece disintegrates just after 7 months! And they don’t sell replacement caps. I really like this bottle. But quality is bad. Not sure what’s the size effects of using a mouthpiece with this rubber condition!

Faulty. Leaking.
Have purchased multiple of this drink bottle in the past. Unfortunately this one is leaking. Only used a couple of times.

Lid broke
The lid broke after less than 9 months. There’s some rubber that will make the lid pop open when you press a button and this piece of rubber simply came off one day.
