Purina Pro Plan LiveClear Allergen Reducing Dry Cat Food, Chicken, 7 lb

This cat food is amazing!! I am severely allergic to cats, like throat closing up when I’m around too many type allergic. My partner and I really wanted a cat so I was going to get the allergy shots. Then I thought to look into other options, and I found this food. My eyes don’t even get itchy anymore around my cat. I can hug, kiss, and pet her and never even feel an inch of being allergic. This is so worth it, I can’t rave enough about this product. I also have noticed that my kitty has never gotten sick off of it, even after being adopted from the shelter. And she absolutely loves the taste, so much so we use it as training treats for her. 💜

I've had plenty of cats and kittens on Purina Pro Plan Liveclear dry food. I've noticed that the adults and kittens love the kitten food more than the adult but it's also higher in calories and fats so adult cats really shouldn't be eating kitten food for an extended length of time unless your adult female is pregnant and/or nursing or if your veterinarian advises you to do so. Purina has many different dry food options including many different Purina Pro Plan sub-types and many of them are not of the same quality as others. Purina Pro Plan LiveClear is their highest grade dry good available with a veterinarian's prescription. It IS also the most expensive but because it's the only dry food I've ever found that ALL of my cats like, I'm willing to pay a little extra so that I don't have to get numerous different types of food for different cats. The LiveClear's claim to lower your cat's allergens is fairly new. I started seeing it within the last few years or so. Before that, they had the same food but it didn't have that claim. I've been using this food for 8 years and haven't ever had a cat that didn't like it. As far as the lower allergen claim goes, I don't notice a difference. It's hard to tell since my boyfriend has a pollen and grass allergy as well as a cat allergy so I don't know if we'd notice if there was a difference in the amount of allergens released in their saliva and dander. This Particular line of Purina's comes in a variety of flavor options. For the most part I get them the Chicken and Rice but I've also tried the Salmon and they seemed to be just as happy. I DID notice a difference in the size of the round pieces of dry food when comparing the chicken and salmon. The Chicken and Rice Adult dry food has round thicker pieces and the salmon flavor is round and almost flat. The size and weight of the bags are the same but the individual pieces are slightly different. I suppose it's possible that Purina is in the process of changing the size of all of the LiveClear food pieces and one of the bags I got was with their new size and the other bag was with their previous size. Both bags were fresh. If your cat has health problems that cause him/her to need dry food that s geared towards Kidney problems, urinary tract, sensitive stomach, etc. Purina Pro Plan also makes dry food for such health issues and they also have prescription food for specific health issues which you can ask your Veterinarian about.

If you have cat allergies, this is worth a try. I have two cats, loves of my loves, but holy moly I’m allergic. I’ve tried other things like the typical over cleaning and allergy medicine every day, but this actually have made a bid impact. I ran out about a month ago, and already my allergies have gotten worse. Am purchasing more as soon as I’m done typing this up. As far as cat health: the cats love it, it’s got good healthy ingredients, and the price point matches up with how healthy it is for them and the additional allergy relief for me.

My cat likes the flavor and I notice that it reduces her allergies and has not had hairball issues either. Does not have heavy odor either so that is also a plus!

My two cats has no problem switching over to purina from hills science diet. I made the switch because of my allergies becoming significantly worse. I do believe this is helping with my allergies - however I also have multiple air purifies around my home and take an ungodly amount of allergy medicine, so I can not be 100% sure on how much the food is helping. My one cat tends to have a sensitive stomach - she has not had any digestive problems since starting this a few months ago. I have noticed that both cats have had softer and shinier coats. So even if this has not helped with allergies I plan to keep the cats on this food.

Kitty finally likes it but it took a bit. I use her old food as treats now & she doesn’t have a clue lol It may be helping with my granddaughter's severe allergies but I've also incorporated a spray that is supposed ro break down allergens and be hypoallergenic, as well. I think the price is RIDICULOUS compared to her old food, made by same.company...but whatever it takes to help my grandlittle!

This product has helped so much to decrease my granddaughter reaction to my cats!

It works. Took about three months before I really noticed my allergies weren’t bothering me anymore. During that time allergen dry cat shampoo, lots of brushing and cleaning, and an air filter did the job.

My cat has been on this for six months. I have not noticed much of a difference in my allergies. But I’ve noticed that he developed a minor rash in his ear recently, and there was a rash on his leg also recently. I am not sure if it’s from this food or not so I’m still contemplating if I want to keep him on this or go back to his old food which was from Royal canine.

I have 4 cats and my mom and I might be a little allergic. I have several friends who are also very allergic so I thought I would give this a try. The cats love the food (whew!) so that is not an issue at all. The kibble size is very small which is good as 2 cats have very small mouths. It's been several months and I think it's actually helping as I am sneezing less (unless they are right up in my face which they do when they want to snuggle) I also noticed that I have to change my filters on my Air Tok purifiers a lot less frequently too. Hoping this continues but so far it's been great!

I’m not sure what they put in this formula that makes my cat go crazy for it but he LOVES this kibble. I have noticed an improvement in my allergies since switching him to this food about 2 years ago. The ingredients are just ok but honestly he’s had no health issues directly related to his food since using it (another brand gave him crystals in the past). Would recommend anyone with mild allergies to try it out!
