The Call of the Wild: The Original 1903 Edition

Truly a wonderful book. Transports you into the mind of a dog in such a transfixing way. Again, one of my favorites.

Told from the POV of a dog. A great story that changes every time you read it. I highly recommend reading this.

Read this book again after many years and found it still thought provoking. A tame and civilized Buck goes through several different owners in the harsh north of the Yukon and reverts to his species wild origins. Despite his base wild nature, Buck is actually more humane and protective of his new pack, than the humans he last meets.

Read the book many years ago, but wanted to read it again before seeing the new movie with Harrison Ford. Was as excellent as I remember, although made me cry sometimes, as I am a dog lover. I'm also fascinated by Alaska, been there twice and can't wait to go back.

This adventure novel while short packed a lot in. This is the story of Buck the sled dog, it is told from Buck's perspective, which was really interesting. Buck goes from a normal domesticated dog to a wild dog due to answering the call. In between, you get the story of his life through several masters. Plus all the cruelty he and his pack faced, which was truly hard to read. Even though this is told from a dog's perspective I felt all the emotions Buck went through. A true classic story that everyone should pick up and read.

I read this story when I was much younger and thought I would try reading it once again as an adult. I found it very enjoyable. It's a great adventure story if you like reading about animals and the outdoors.

It was a little difficult to follow in the beginning. I found that the wording made you think, but I was tearing up by the end of the book. 10/10 for me.

Poor reprint very low quality.

Wonderful story still fresh today. A must for all animal lovers. Highly recommended and a great read for all ages.
