it was exactly what I wanted and was looking for! I found the process of ordering and shipping to be easy, and it came without delay, in perfect condition.

I have used Boye Crochet Hooks for 50 years. It was the brand of hook I used when I first learned to crochet and, in my opinion, they are the easiest to use. They are consistently smooth and allow the yarn to slide gently over the surface. I rarely have trouble with yarn splitting and I have never had a hook snag the yarn or work. This set includes the sizes used most often. I purchased it as a gift for my granddaughter when she was interested in learning to crochet. I wanted her to have everything she needed to enjoy a new lifelong hobby.

I only needed a size E. Well, I thought I did - turns out I really needed the D. Anyway, at the time I bought these, they were $3.99 and same day delivery, so now I have 8 more hooks! (They are $10.76 today, which is still pretty good. And same day shipping. Woo hoo!) Most of my hooks are the Boye brand, and I love them. They are light and sturdy and smooth. I have some plastic ones because right after 9/11, it was hard to get metal sticks on airplanes ("Thirty Dead on Flight after Crochet Hook Wielding Madman Freaks Out over Number of Pretzels in Bag!!") Plastic is horrible and almost never completely smooth. (Don't argue with me about this - I've had bad experiences!) I've never had a problem with Boye, and after crocheting an afghan 4'x5', I still haven't had a problem. So, if you think you might need a hook or two that are in the D-K range, plop this in your cart. Check it every once in a while to see if the price goes down, and snag it when it does. (My local craft stores sell this set in the $10-12 range, and if you get their coupons, you can usually get it for less.)

Love Boye hooks! Have been using them for so many years. The variety of sizes is great for the coat. The metal design is comfortable for my hands and that makes them easy to use.

If you're looking to replace some Boye hooks you owned before, I would say be sure you know what you're getting with the D-K set on this page. When I bought this set previously, the D hook was measured and printed with the size of 3.25mm, like it is everywhere. Now, maybe Boye always sold D hooks at the size that is listed now--3 point ONE TWO FIVE mm--and they're just now letting the consumer know; or maybe they actually changed the size of their D hooks to 3.125mm. Either way, it was downright disconcerting to reorder the same set I ordered before, only to discover that three hook sizes have "changed": D - from 3.25mm to 3.125mm; I - from 5.5mm to 5.25mm; and J - from 6mm to 5.75mm. Are all D, I, and J hooks really this size and we just thought they were 3.25mm, 5.5mm, and 6mm respectively? I don't know. But I just thought I should give people a heads up in case others might be unpleasantly surprised and a little bit confused by this change. You'd still do the same things you always do to get gauge for a pattern you're working, the size "changes" are negligible, and the hooks work fine. So it's not a big deal, just a little odd, I think.

Boye are some of my favorite hooks. The yarn glides over the hook smoothly and the head is just the right size to go through your stitches without getting caught or splitting the yarn. I have some of my mom's hooks that she passed on to me. They last forever. They are a great budget find and they come in so many fun colors.

This is my all-time favorite brand. They are smooth, the thumb grip is comfortable even for my now older hands. This set includes the MOST COMMON sizes and they will last a lifetime...unless you are really turning out phenomenal amounts of items. All the ones I own and have had a lifetime...even some from Mom and Grandma...are steady. The *TAPER" is perfect and more comfortable in hand than the "in-line" type. ((The only reason I bought this set was to experiment converting to a corded Tunisian style because I am skeptical of the in-line pre-made being suitable fro me. (I'm buying moldable clay and flex tubing.)) **the polished aluminum makes these "QUICK"...so if speed is your need...go for these.

Item arrived today and it has helped me get the result I need,the only negative was that one of the hooks had a tiny bend in it which seems to be a manufacturing fault (was quickly sorted by pushing the hook the other way)as the item was very well packaged by amazon

I absolutely love Boye hooks. The aluminum hooks makes it easy for the yarn to slide on the hook every time. The tapered throat is the perfect length to be able to grab each stick or yarn. Some brands the tapered throat is to short and you constantly lose the stitch. This is the only brand of hooks I will use. I primarily use hooks F-I (3.75-5.25mm) with all my yarn & projects. I specifically love that they have a 4.25mm hook. I have yet to find any other aluminum hook in 4.25mm. I ordered 3pks of these hooks because it has all 4 of my primarily used hooks in it. So it was super convenient and decent price. I've probably got over 100 Boye hooks in my collection because I unfortunately tend to lose them a lot, primarily in my couch or car. So I always need to have a replacement ready until I move my couch to retrieve them all. My only issue was with whomever was responsible for shipping the items. Not the Boye brand. 2 of my packs arrived by the usual Amazon delivery company. The 3rd package was shipped from a different initial location using a different delivery company. The item I had been sent was clearly used. It was dirty and very sticky. Even the inside of the plastic Amazon bag was so sticky. But the worst part was that it was missing 2 crochet hooks. The exchange on Amazon was very easy. I opted for the item to be picked up from my home. I love that I don't need to print a label and can use the sticky package it arrived in to return it in. Hopefully when the new product arrives in 2 days it will not be missing any hooks. Despite this one time problem with the received item, I would 100% the Boye brand hooks for any crocheters. When any of my co-workers/friends wants to learn to crochet, I always given them a small ball of my leftover yarn and a Boye Aluminum hook for them to practice with.
