This is a must-have tool for a DYI installation for the door seal spring. I had to replace the drain pump on my washer. I did watch several videos on how to do this. Most of them suggested that you get this spring expansion tool. Once you get the hang of it, it worked well. Installing the spring is not hard, but you need to work slowly and fit the spring into the groove on the seal and then expand it with the tool to position the spring in place. I tried to take a video but it did not work out. Some pros do not use this, but for me it saved me time and made the job easier.

My spring measured about 3 inches when off of the washer. these pliers opened it more than enough easily to place the gasket holder in place. There is another tool with the prongs welded to the pivot and these almost appear as a solid piece but I believe they are machined and pressed into the main body housing. They will open to 4 and 3/4 inches notch to notch. Worth every penny to avoid the aggravation of trying to reinstall this spring any other way.

Worked perfect. Has notches on tip to keep ring in place while being expanded. Solid quality and feel. Took about 10 seconds to install ring and be done with my washer repair. Without this tool it was a nightmare to put ring back on seal.

Works as described with very little effort. So much quicker and easier to remove and reinstall the spring.

Worked for replacing door seal on LG WM2487HWM. Useful for removing and reinstalling both the inner & outer retaining clamps - especially reinstallation on the inner clamp. For the Home Fixer, this is hopefully a use once tool. In my opinion, worth the $10 for one time use as it helped immensely. As expected, quality isn't great - had to file a burr of off one end.

I tried for hours to try and get a spring clamp onto my new washing machine gasket and then ordered this guy. It worked perfectly and anyone trying to do what I did needs to have one of these. And it was cheap!!!

Worked like a charm! Full story, my washing machine drain was clogged, so I successfully removed the spring clamp, cleaned what needed cleaned, and then major freaked out when after multiple attempts and retrying over numerous hours I wasn't able to get the clamp back on. Overnight delivery saved the day though and I got it back on immediately with this bad boy.
