Are these really thin? Need a sock that will fit in my boots that are tight with thick socks.

Yes, these are definitely thinner than all of my other wool socks. I too was looking for a thinner and less bulky sock for some of my dressier winter shoes. I really love these and I bought a second set. I would suggest for you to try them, but make sure they are returnable in case you do not like the fit.
