Once ring flash units cost a month's wages, being able to get this delivered for the price of a couple of pizzas is just amazing.OK the build quality isn't like it was made by Canon or Nikon, but it does the job pretty well. It doesn't come in a fancy box either.The lens adaptors are all plastic, so need care in use. The unit can freely rotate on the adaptor rings which makes the side lighting option a bit hit and miss unless you add a bit of tape to hold it stable.Really just amazing value for money if it keeps working.One thing to note with this I have only just realised; To get the power unit off the hot shoe you need to fully unscrew the locking clamp, not just loosen it like most other shoe mounted units. This is because there's a pin that engages into the camera and it needs to be fully out to release the unit and prevent damage to the camera. I've been involved with photography for over 50 years and this is a new idea I've not come across before.

Seems a good ring light for what I need which is filming watches in macro.Good enough light for me although the filters don’t fit right and can fall off if knocked. This has happened to me usually when I am packing stuff away rather than in film.I have found it eats my batteries. X4 Energisers lasted me 1 hour constant use on all the time before I got a battery low warning. This will be a pain for me going forward as it’s a shame there is no way to power by mains.For £25 it’s as expected

It does work to a degree, and it's useful to have the continuous light, but I find it a bit under-powered, perhaps not surprisingly given its low price. Otherwise I have had no issues with it.

I think this gear is a pretty good bang for the buck. It might be just enough for any hobbyist macro photographer. It is pretty bright although it wasn’t bright enough for my purposes which is cross-polarized photogrammetry. My camera is a micro 4/3 so it needs plenty of light (2x as much as a full frame Canon), especially with cross-polarized lighting. For this reason unfortunately I have to send this one back and buy a more expensive professional ring light. But if I was using it for every day macro shoots I would definitely keep it. For the price it is pretty incredible! Give it a try!

Absolutely great for the price. I have used it for macro photography and as an extra light for video filming. The controls are easy to use and give a reasonable light range as well as the defusing rings to soften the light when needed. The battery life is good and all I’d recommend is to carry a couple of spare sets just in case.

No guide number is mentioned in the advertising but it can only be used at a distance of up to 20cm, ok if you want to do macro pics but not for modelling.Flash rotates freely on the keys so left and right cannot be used properlyItem returned

Although it didn't say it would work with the New Olympus OM-D E-M1X I took the risk as it wasn't highly priced, thinking I could resell it but I was over the moon when it worked. The only thing is it would have been better if the rings were metal instead of plastic but just be careful when screwing them on and off and they're fine.

Easy to use and brilliant results. A great replacement for my cokin ring flash when it finally gave up after many years. Very surprised for the price
