Dog Backpack for Hiking - Detachable Pack Instantly Turns into Harness - Athletic Dog Training - Enjoy a Healthier, Happier Dog

I had to return this pack because it was too large for my dog. But I still wanted to give it 5 stars because while I had it I loved how sturdy it was made and how easy it was to put on my pup. The sides are easily removed and placed back on and were big enough for me to have used as my diaper bag as I went on my hikes. Hoping they have her size soon so I can get the right size for her!!

I purchased this on Sept. 28th so I have had it six months. The place where the d-ring connects to the harness has already ripped. This has seen only moderate use.My dog is able to squiggle out of collars and harnesses. I was very happy with this at first because she could not get out of it. Unfortunately it just isn't durable. Maybe if you dog doesn't get as excited as mine does it won't be a problem, but I've never had this happen before with any other harness, so I am not happy. Will have to try to re-stitch this and make it more secure or just find something more durable.

It's a little loose fitting for my 45lb pup, but it stays on and she loves it. It fits her food and utilities well and doesn't rub her anywhere that would cause dis-ease. It is unbalanced sometimes.

(See edit at end) I was looking for a (very first) bag that was relatively priced and yet seemed strong enough to last. Probably not the bag to get for a dog that goes on backpacking trips. My dog is 50lbs and fits this bag well. We went on a 3ish mile hike this weekend.Pros:-HUGE saddle bags-Doesn't move when tightened correctly-Very pretty color-Comes with two loops for a carabiner and leash to hook on. (See edit, broke immediately)Cons:-The under the armpits is not padded.-The straps do loosen sometimes, and this is a pain.-the saddlebags only are held down in the front, by the strap under the armpits. The back is left free to flop around.All in all good backpack for the money however once you go through this backpack I probably will upgrade to one that is more dog friendly by nature. To me it was not worth having the saddlebags detach. I would rather have a bag that was much more secure in the back and did not need modifications.EDIT: The bag broke on the forth use, I went to grab the handle and the backpack fell apart. My dog was running and I grabbed him while with more power behind it however the stitching could have been better. I returned it to Amazon and plan on buying something else. The loops that would have attached to the leash are useless. Broke quickly.

I loved it when it came in the mail. But on the first outing with it on it broke right when we started the hike. I'm so very disappointed in this product:(

size is as described and construction appears to be durable

I have a major shoulder injury and so this was perfect for my dog to pack around what I needed for my almost 2 yr old and 3 month old.The only thing I didn't like is that it is smaller then pictured. The harness is pretty tight on my 95lb lab pit mix, and it's fully loosened. Especially after seeing this on golden retrievers it is quote misleading as far as size of the bags and harness.Definitely worth the price, and in all fairness my dog does have the broad pit chest and overall lab size (so he's pretty beastly for those questioning if it will for there dog)

Loved the quality and make of pack it would have been perfect if my dog was a bit smaller. I have a Boxer/Bulldog mix (66Lbs) medium build dog and the waist strap was way too tight . The package was labeled medium but no choice was given at time of order. If a large is available it would've most certainly fit . Shame it's a great quality dogpack.
