A Delicious Camping Essential!
I recently brought the Mountain House Lasagna with Meat Sauce on a camping trip, and it was a fantastic choice. Before committing to the larger #10 can, I tried one of their smaller serving options. After a full day of hiking, setting up camp, and enjoying the great outdoors, the last thing we wanted was to spend too long on dinner. With just hot water, we were able to prepare a delicious meal in under 10 minutes. The layers of pasta, seasoned meat, and rich sauce were incredibly satisfying after a day of adventures. Everyone enjoyed it, and it was the perfect comfort food to end our evening under the stars. The flavor exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to bring the larger can on our next trip. Mountain House has certainly earned a place in my camping essentials!

Excellent product in all catagories…
Excellent quality and taste and super long term storage. Mountain House freeze dried food is what the other freeze dried foods companies try to copy and fail at and the Lasagna is great. Easy preparation as well.

Quality is wonderful - always delivered undented
Can came in undented with no rust and lid is secure. I count on the quality of Mountain house. As a serious "put a wayer" for hard times I rate Mountain House tied for 1st Place. I will continue to purchase their #10 Cans and also the buckets. Even the items I have purchased that are on sale have not let me down.

Good solid long shelf life and taste
Use these regularly for backpacking and light camping and this is as good as ever. Long shelf life of 25-30 years and I got these for my kids. Tastes great and easy to prep with hot water and patience. Make sure to stir in between the 8-10 minutes and make sure to use the correct amount of water. Still have other meals from 10+ years ago and they taste just as good. One of the top easy recommendations for long term planning and prep.

Good enough for picky people
I'm writing this because I'm surprised. My fiancé really enjoyed it, and this after she actually knew it came from a can and was rehydrated with water. Between the two of us we ate the whole can, which was not in the plans. To be fair, I only cracked it open because, between the economy and a work shutdown, we were quite scarce in the kitchen and I really didn't want to cook. Figured it was a good time to see if she'll be fine with freeze dried foods.

Here is a secret
Buy the #10 cans and find you some reusable zip lock bags....the really think plastic kind...Divide up this can into 5 servings...about 4.8 ounces of dry food to each zip lock baggie. Tuck them in your freezer and for about 4 bucks you have an awesome meal for the trail...use about 1.5 cups of water to boil, pour in the baggie wait 5 minutes and eat right out of the bag. You can purchase these in the mylar pouches but it will cost you over double. My wife and I buy the #10 cans and this is our trail and wilderness food preps. We have tried them all and this is our favorite...I usually have at least 20 cans of this stuff on hand. Makes great long term storable food too but there are much cheaper ways to store long term survival food. Buy bulk rice and beans and the 5 gallon food grade buckets and mylar bags and do it yourself.
