Would this fit under the seat of an airplane?

Yes it does! Flew my first flight using this bag last weekend. If you pack it really full, you can fit it under the seat laying on its side.

Can it be used by men or is it too feminine ?

I think it just depends on the color you choose. I think the solid can be used by men if they don't mind the tote handles. Only the shoulder strap can be removed. Beware if you load it up too heavy, the shoulder strap connection will give out. I returned mine as I needed it as a shoulder bag and not a tote.

Are the zippers on this black bag gold or silver?

Zipper itself is black, the pull tabs, rings, etc are gold

I just got my bag. There's a fishy smell. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips for getting smell out?

My suggestion for you is to put the bags in a ventilated place for several days.
