Packaging for shipment needs improvment !!!!
The chess board and pieces are excellent !!!!! The case latch was broke and didn't function !!!! The overall packaging was totally insufficient...it is a miracle that the case didn't have more damage. I would recommend better packaging for any future orders !!!! Hope this review is helpful. Thank you !!!!

Very nice, but a bit pricey for the quality
This chess set is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors and the idea of the pieces. However, the quality of the craftsmanship leaves a bit to be desired for the price paid. The board is what appears to be a piece of wood with a thin laminate on it, and the pieces are handmade, but clearly low quality. I don't see this set lasting long. On the positive side, earning them the 4th star, Helcee's response time and customer service is fantastic. My set shipped to me broken due to the low quality and lack of sufficient padding for the pieces inside the wooden case. However, despite my failure to return the product on time, Helcee still took the time to help me get replacement pieces for the 3 pawns that had broken in shipping, including a couple of extras. Overall, I am satisfied that I made the purchase, as it IS beautiful and is going to create lots of fun conversations while it lasts. It won't take all that much effort to fix the wooden case with some wood glue, and get a custom foam mold made for the pieces.
