Would this help with physical therapy exercises and strengthening of the thumb?

Best to do very light , slow, strength work and gentle stretching and massaging of the thumb and surrounding bones and tendons. Pure heavy strength work is for non injured practitioners. I am a personal trainer

If i already have a strong forearm is this enough hard for me ?

My girlfriend cant do the full weight. I can do it with moderate difficulty... my right hand is stronger than my left, js.
