Can this be used for white gas if one had a fuel bottle and fuel pump?

No, white gas requires a preheating generator tube the passes over or through the flame BEFORE the gas goes into the burner assembly. Look at the Coleman white gas camp stoves. They all have a tube the passes through the flame. This is the generator that vaporizes the liquid so it will burn as a gas.

How many hours does 1lbs coleman propane last on this stove?

I use a charcoal lighter, I believe that, that is safer.
