One of the best panfish rods you could ask for.
One of the best panfish rods you could ever ask for. I keep one in my vehicle all the time. Easy to pack, easy to put together. My favorite panfish rod.

Great rod
I love this little rod, fits in my back pack, have not had any problems, perfect for a versatile ultralight setup, although Iโve had other rods that casted better itโs cast well enough for a 4 piece

Very High Quality Rod
I bought the 7' Ultra Light Pack Rod. The guides, wrapping, handle and hook keeper all are very high quality. I was very impressed with the quality at this price point. The fit and finish reminds me of a high quality fly rod. It is very light and very sensitive. What I like the most about this rod is the fact that it still has some backbone for fighting larger fish. This rod is best suited for throwing baits in the 1/64 to 1/8 ounce range. And all of this breaks down into a package a little over 24.5" long.

Stiff for a UL rod, fast action, good value. Good quality components and well put together.
The first rod arrived (took a couple of weeks) and was obviously a return. Missing the top piece and the 2nd from the bottom piece was broken off at the ferrule. The broken off piece wasn't even in the case. The rod was loose in the case; not strapped down. No problem with the return. Replacement took a while to come in. GREAT!!! Rod strapped down in the case. Kind of stiff for a UL rod, but that's why I got the 7' 4 piece. Very nice rod for the price. Very happy!

The Tip WILL break!
buy the daiwa spinmatic SMD instead. Its cheaper, and wont break. i read all the reviews about this rod tip breaking. I wanted to like this rod so much. I purchased the rod with product protection. It was an awesome rod until it broke at the tip, about 4 hours into the first days fishing it, I was only reeling in a small perch, and the tip just snapped.

Tip snapped off on my trip
Wellโฆ itโs hard to give a rating because the pole is amazing. A great ultralight rod that I was able to use about 9 times or so on the same trip before it broke. Iโve caught 20 or so smallmouth on the ned rig, 4 trout on small spinners and a ton of small walleye too. This rod makes them all feel like giants and so much fun to play out. On one frosty morning in Wyoming fishing for cutthroat, my eyelets froze (as expected). I gently picked the ice off of one eyelet, no problem. Then the next, then the next andโฆ snap. My beloved rod tip snapped off with seemingly no effort at all. Itโs funny because reading all the reviews before hand.. I should have known this would happen but it still broke my heart and put a hitch in my fishing trip.. I reached out to Daiwa and they requested I send it in for warranty inspection. Hopefully they replace it and if they can, they said new rods would be in 3 months from now. Iโll keep yโall updated but like I said.. amazing rod but pretty darn fragile..

Best UL Spin Pack Rod out there.
For years I've been searching for a high quality, 7' UL pack rod, without having to go the custom rod maker route, and keeping cost under the $300-400 range. Finally Daiwa came through. I've been a fly fisherman for over 25 years and have been spoiled by fine high end fly rods like Sage and Winston. The Daiwa Presso UL spinning rod provides a similar action and feel to those high end fly rods. Beautiful for casting small spinners, larger weighted sculpin and similar wet patterns, and even dries behind a small bubble. In addition, it comes with a good looking and functional zippered case rather than just an ugly plastic tube.

Tip WILL fail
Everything everyone else said is on the nose. Phenomenal feel and casting, finish is really smooth, 4 piece is super nice, tip WILL break at some point. Tried a friendโs and loved it, bought one for myself and the tip broke not even an hour out. Same day I received the rod lol. Buy something else. Not sure if the 2 piece are stronger but the 4 piece is garbage.

Won't get a better rod at this price point
Great feel, light rod with solid backbone. Perfect for PNW spring/summer fishing. Sensitive enough for small fish and able to handle the odd 6 pounder.

Really good reel
Best rod I've owned. Very slim and lightweight with excellent overall material. It is portable and comes in a carry case. I wish the cary case had room for a reel to fit in there.

Beutiful Ultralight Rod
If you want to turn small redfin and trout fishing into pure fun then this is the rod you will love to use. Awesome fun to be had and so easy to store - pair it with a 1000 or 2000 size reel and you will turn those pesky little fish into a challenge.

Buyers Beware
Hope i listen to the review, disregarded it and pay the price, my rod broken after 1st day of fishing, the tip is so fragile that when i got a snag and trying to clear it, not by the rod but by the line that it snap. after fix it then but its not the same then, called into daiwa but they wont sell just the tip, want me to ship the butt end in exchange for a full set on a low price, tsk tsk tsk, costly. will not recommend just go for a different one.
