Reeves Coloured Pencils,Set of 12

I bought these pencils for my adult coloring books after I realized my kids' Crayola pencils didn't have enough colors. I was pleased to discover that these Reeves pencils are smooth and soft, with good coverage on the paper, and that the wood sharpens without shredding or chipping in an electric sharpener. The Crayola pencils we have often have broken leads that fall out as we sharpen, or wood that doesn't sharpen smoothly. And the Crayola pencils are much harder and don't blend as well on paper.I've since bought some pricey PrismaColor pencils ($1.49 each when bought individually at Michael's), and like these Reeves pencils just as much. I could have used a few more greens and browns in the selection of 24 (a few too many yellows, oranges and reds) but overall I'm very pleased with this set and recommend them for anyone looking for good quality without paying a hundred dollars.

Good quality pencils that have a nice creamy texture. They blend well and evenly. The reason for the 4 star rating is that they are only color coded on the ends of each pencil with no written descriptive name on the individual pencils. This makes it a bit difficult if one needs a specific color. There is a sample of each one along with the name printed on the back of the box. For this to be useful one would have to keep the pencils in the box in the exact order of the samples. I don't find this an acceptable way to utilize these very nice colored pencils.

These colored pencils by Reeves are very unique because you can use them very easily for small detail in adult coloring books but they are very smooth and have a much bigger core than your average hard core colored pencil.These pencils are smoother and more vibrant than both Prismacolor Verithins or Staedtler Noris Club.I colored the small detail on the back of a crab in the coloring book, "Sea Life Wonders" with these Reeves pencils and I was able to do it quickly, never had to sharpen my pencils and there was no breakage.I am really glad I picked up a set to add to my colored pencil collection.

These are the best pencils I've ever used. I had a smaller set and loved them so much I ordered this larger set. The points of color are not soft like other pencils, so you get vibrant colors without having to press very hard. You get a nice finish too. My pencils arrived, though, with the box opened and pencils all over the larger box it came in but they seemed ok, not damaged. My only beef is that there were 7 greens, but only 2 pinks and 2 purples.

I used them for hours and hours over several days before I finally had to sharpen the first pencil! I wish I had found these pencils a long time ago. This set would make a great gift for any age that understands the safety of a sharp tipped pencil and how to safely sharpen one as well. I would not hesitate to buy from this company again. These colored pencils are amazing! I would never have dreamed there could be such a difference in quality and coverage. The colors are rich and color so much better than other brands. Crayola brand is kind of waxy but these have a powdery texture that covers the colored area beautifully! I only wish they had more than just the 36 colors!

My first review was not kind to these great pencils. Unfortunately I was reviewing another brand and sent the wrong report. These pencils are great! Smooth, beautiful colors. NO breakage. Sharpen beautifully. I would buy a larger set if they decide to add more colors. PurlyQ

Enjoy the fluid feel of this modest priced color set. The colors are very nice, they blend well, work in with my other sets and sharpen fine.

Really good quality coloured pencils with medium-hard wood which sharpens evenly and a waxy but firm "lead" which sharpens to a fine point for detail and lays down even colour when used blunt. Their only fault is that they don't come in a very wide range of colours - I wish they made 72 colours or more!

I found these pencil leads to be too hard and do not blend well for the kind of coloring I want to do. They have a scratchy feel to them and I had to press quite firmly on the paper when I tried using them in my coloring book, 'Animal Kingdom' by Millie Marotta. They might be good for kids to play around with, but I think there are better products out there that will give a better coloring experience. I would not recommend these pencils. There are better ones out there, like Prismacolor Scholars, which can be purchased through Amazon at a reasonable price.

Die Stifte an sich - da gibt es nichts zu meckern. Aber als das Päckchen ankam war es schon kaputt. Bei 5 stiften war die Spitze abgebrochen und jetzt nach dem ersten Mal spitzen sind mir bei 12 Stiften drei mal die Spitzen abgebrochen. Das heißt die Mienen haben einiges durchgemacht .... Ich bin echt sauer. Und das bei eigentlich guten Stiften.

Have just caught the colouring bug and find these pencils invaluable with their wide range of colours. Really look forward to using them.

I would purchase these pencils again.
