This is a great product. I had a hair dresser turned my hair brassy/red. I want to get back to a neutral base color. The color matched the box and the grey coverage was good. I will need to put a bit more around the temples so it gets full coverage there. Hair is happy and shiny.

Only use L’Oréal products so after 40 years I still use L’Oréal. This hair dye is color it shows and leaves your hair soft and shinning. I often have people ask who does my color. I say me with L’Oréal. Tried others but inexpensive and always true to color I highly recommend this hair colorant and lasts for me about 5 weeks as I get older.

I cannot say enough good things about this creme hair dye. Firstly, yes, it's darker than the box shows. But that was why I bought it. I wanted a warm, darker, rich brunette tone to overlay the current too-red hue I've got. I normally use John Frieda foam in a variety of the darker brown, redder shades and they've just really been talking flat and not covering evenly lately. They also haven't been giving me the gray coverage it used to. So, I decided to give this a try and it's now my go-to. I love that it comes with an aftercare shampoo so you don't have a bunch of residue. I love, love, LOVE the conditioner. My hair was silky and full of vitality immediately after coloring. Once it air dried and I could see the color... It's absolutely gorgeous. Rich, even, vibrant tones of deep chocolate brown without being too brassy, ashy, or red. Perfection. And the gray coverage? What grays, again?

For all the people saying the ash color turned thier hair orange, its not the dye. Its your water. I bought this dye months ago and it also turned my hair more brass at the roots and my hair always tends to get more brass with washing after. I changed my showerhead to one that removes chlorine and minerals like rust and my hair no longer turns brassy. The color works as intended and my hair is a neutral cool brown as I like it.

I never expected hair color to be something I get through Amazon, but I got tired of local store shelves not stocking my specific hair color shade during the holidays - and local stocking problems have been getting worse, maybe as more people find out how great this hair color works! During COVID, I exclusively began coloring my hair at home, and I'm still doing that. The money savings are outstanding (I've paid as much as $200 for hair color appt, with tip) so a box that is between $8-14 (goes on sale at times, different stores offer at different prices) saves me a LOT of money. I also like being able to control the timing, as I can do it at night when stores are closed. I find this doesn't drip, so I do sometimes leave the bathroom and wonder around to get things done around the house while its working or sometimes just veg and watch TV. I like the comb applicator a lot, because I feel this helps get it down closer to scalp roots. I have a little ritual for mixing the color - after getting all the color out into the applicator bottle - and I mean ALL the color out, just like your hairstylist does - use a comb or other hard edged something and push every last bit of color out - after that I put the applicator top back on the applicator bottle for shaking. I don't stop with just shaking. Once I think it is mixed, then I open the very top tiny tip cap of the applicator bottle, loosen the applicator top, and I blow into the tip to push the mixed color and applicator product back fully into the applicator bottle. Then I retighten both tops on the applicator bottle, and I shake more. This way if straight color got stuck into the applicator top, it is back into the bottle for complete mixing. I don't know if this matters, but I have consistent color application every time I use this product. Once I'm done shaking, then I put on the comb applicator, the included gloves, and then I start with my hair top center part area and temples, and then scalp hair tips all over, including even the undersides and back, as I often wear my hair in a ponytail. If my hair grows long down to or past my shoulders, then I've been known to use two boxes for coloring, but usually one box is all I need for coloring my hair (I have included a photo so you see length - I colored my hair two nights ago). The instructions are clear. I've been with them through 3 product changes (this recent hyaluronic acid being most recent). BTW, I didn't notice any difference using this new formulation, so if you loved it before, you'll keep loving it. Through the years, I have tried a few other colors in this color range, but I keep coming back to 8.5 because it's the color I naturally had most of my life, though I started getting white hair at either 18 or 20 years old. I am a blue eyed blonde and I get complements on my hair all the time - I laugh and say you can have this color too - it's Loreal 8.5. Coverage lasts longer than other brands. I started dying my hair darker but the hair dye brand I had always used to lighten my hair faded so fast. I wash my hair daily so that contributed but it still seemed odd that it faded so quickly. I switched to Excellence last year and it has been way better. My hair still feels healthy and soft so I’m very happy with the transition.

I normally get my hair coloured at hairdresser. I have deep ash blonde “base” with multi highlights. Dreaded ruining my hair with home colour. Beautiful colour. My hair feels fantastic. Roots (grey) for 25 minutes then worked the colour thru my hair for 3-5 minutes. Grey covered. Multicoloured hair. Great. Toned down any brassiness with pulling colour thru my hair for minimal time. The pre-root conditioner is great. Pulled thru bottom 1/2 of my hair.

I ordered 4 boxes & they came late, i was disheartened, however when they came i was very surprised, it covered my copper hair dye and looks and feels great, no runs or mess in the bathroom and i only needed to use 2 boxes this time so coverage is great, i hated the smell while applying, but it soon go's when you wash and the shampoo an conditioner is very refreshing, my hair is glossy and healthy, my new go to hair dye for sure.

I haven’t used the product yet as it didn’t come with any gloves which was frustrating.
