Is the detachable hand-held shower made from plastic?

Yes it's. Also it's quite large and uncomfortable to hold. I returned for refund for these reasons.

How long is the hose pull out?

The distance varies depending on how you attached the “counterweight “ to the hose under the sink. Mine is currently set so that fully extended there is 26cm of hose . Note you need to length of the shower head to this in my case overall length comes to about 42cm. By adjusting the weight I think I could add another 3-4cm.

I have pulled it out, all the way, and perhaps too far. Now it won’t go back in. Any suggestions on what to do to push the hose back?

Look underneath the sink. You should see the pipe with a weight on it. That is what pulls it back through. If it is lose or at the bottom it is not working correctly or you have pulled it to far and it has jammed. Look for the weight and gently pull on the pipe it is attached to. If it is jammed then you will need to contact a plumber. Hope this helps and you get it sorted
