How often do you need to replace the nib?

Depends on your usage and how hard you press on the nib I have had mine for nearly a year and haven't changed the nib yet. I write with it daily on my remarkable or sometimes on my s21 phone but I have heard it can last around 6 months

Is this compatible with microsoft surface go 2?

No. Microsoft uses a completely different technology in their pens.
