My firepit is 24 * 22.5 in. Will your cover work for me?

Our fire pit cover is 36 inch dia 20 inch height, maybe a little big.

Regardless of size, does this cover hold up longer than one season?

Yes. We are in 2nd season and it's doing great.

How long are the straps?

There are two sets of straps on opposite sides of the cover. The female ends are 5 1/2 inches long and the male ends are 7 1/2 inches long. The male ends are adjustable. I have never used the straps. I’ve just used the cord.
