It worked just not wired with the right colors according to the diagram.

It worked, but.....
It worked and replaced an old ballast. Been running for about 2 months in a Sun Blaze. But the form factor was half the length and half the height of the original so the reflector did not fit exactly. Not overly noticeable but did distort the reflector a bit. The price was right!

Not the original DXE454HO5
One of the two ballasts died in my dual-switch 4-lamp HO light. So I ordered the exact model number. I got this “combined into one” ballast that cannot be hooked up with two switches (2 lights each switch). I can just go to single switch but now I have to rewire the entire darned light. Each original ballast had three output wires, this one has 5. I figured out it’s a common Red and 4 Blues but the actual sockets for the bulbs were wired in pairs so it’s a fair amount of cutting and splicing to make what was supposed to be a simple swap.They should be more up front that the SAME MODEL NUMBER is a DIFFERENT BALLAST.

It works
I installed it, but had to do some bending of fixture (a little bit) the new ballast is 1/4 inch fatter than original ballast. but it was about 25.00 cheaper than electrical store.

IT W ORKS
Electrically this is an exact replacement. For my 4 tube 4 ft grow lights ..the original mounting needed some modification. Happy with it. Delivered promptly as well.
